In my experience Zaino is very susceptible to micro-marring. I think that the most likely source of marring on Zaino is during washing. Having to drive 1/3 mile on crushed granite to get from my house to the asphalt was giving me a lot of problems which led to a lot of experimenting. Here’s what has worked best for me:
Wash before the car is very dirty. Drizzle low pressure water on the area to be washed for a minute or so to rinse away loose dirt and give soluble stuff a chance to dissolve. Spritz areas that have undissolved stuff (like granite dust) with a fairly strong Z-7/water solution, wait a couple of minute and then drizzle again with low pressure water. Dip a 16x16 unfolded MF towel in the wash bucket. On horizontal surface use no pressure, just the weight of the wet towel, and pull across the surface following with low pressure water. On vertical surface use just enough pressure to maintain contact. Rinse the towel in the rinse bucket after each pass. Change to a clean towel after every 2-4 sections. Dry using a waffle weave MF towel, blot - don’t wipe, and a blower. Use a piece of T-shirt material as a filter on the blower or vacuum.
Do not rub to remove difficult dirt! If, after washing, there are remaining spots of dirt - then deal with them on an individual basis.
IMO all marring comes from a single cause - rubbing debris across the paint. Solution: keep everything as clean as possible and use minimum pressure. Rubbing is for polishing, not for washing, not for drying, and not for protectant application/removal. During washing there is no escaping having debris involved in the process - so the ability of the wash mitt, towel, etc. to trap and hide picked up stuff is a major factor.
Suggestion: Get a 500W halogen obsession light (less than $15 at Home Depot or Lowe’s) and experiment to see what wash tool and technique works best for you. Black is a PITA!
Good luck and have fun!
