MF at Canadian Walmarts

Went to Walmart got one Mainstays microfiber sport towel 20"X40" for $2.50 regular $4.88. One 100% Microfiber kitchen yellow plush towel for $3.98 got it for $2.50 they made a mistake no tag was on it.

I washed my car at a coin operated car wash. Dried with cotton towels and the unwashed newly bought walmart towels. I used the microfiber on the windows, door jams, roof, and trunk it was okay no trouble that i found. After washing my salty black beast i found swirl marks on my hood i blame it on the salt, soap concentrate and pressure wash for my perfect shine and wax that was removed.

Can't find the waffle micofiber towels at my local Walmart which one has them in stock in GTA thanks.

I will try to post some pictures of the type of towels see if anyone can see if there any good for paint rather then glass or interior stuff.

doesn't look the best but heck, should work great on glass. tag says "super absorbent" and 100% polyester.

comments?

It seems everyone is jumping on the MF craze, I just picked up some 14"x16" MF Towels from Loblaws for 50 cents each. I'll just use them for the door jams, wheels, engine bay etc.

alright, i picked up the sport towel for comparison (unfortunately too lazy to get my other MFs to compare).

nap looks really good. going to compare with my excel detail ones when i'm less lazy. hope this helps!!!

CD Test:

I did a cd test with all three types of towels.

the sport towel scratched the most (a lot more than the others) where the ultra plush had pretty minute scratches. rarely noticeable. The kitchen towels (the light blue ones) scratched a bit more than my ultra plush MF.

This was done rubbing the cd pretty hard. In comparison, I used a t shirt and that just marred the cd.

All in all, i'm going to return the sport towel and stick with the kitchen towels. They're a good deal for us folks in Canada/Ontario./GTA

Found other stores selling Turkish microfiber 80% - 20% two kitchen towels and one hand towel for $18 at Linen and Things the nap is less plush then the walmart kitchen towels. Does anyone know if Turkish microfiber is better then Chinese or Korean made?

I was at Costco yesterday, and they finally have the packs of MF towels like our friends south of the border have had for awhile now (I guess spring is just around the corner :D) . They are $13 for a pack of 20, I picked a couple of packs up and will use them for wheels, interior work etc.

What Costco did you get them at? What section were they in? What size, color, blend, and how plush? Could you provide a little more info please?

Steve,

I found them in the Ottawa (Merivale) Costco and they're in the automotive section with all the car wash stuff. I'll give you all the details when I get home but I can tell you they are 10 blue and 10 Yellow, and they're 14x16.

Okay Steve here's an update. The MF's are from Superex and they are made in China, a 80/20 blend, they're actually 14x14 and they are pretty plush. Again I will probably use them for wheels and interior, and stick to my other MF's for buffing etc. but they are a good deal at $1.50 each. Hope that info helps.

Thanks. I didn't see any in the local Costco yet but I will be watching for them. They will be good for the engine and wheels.
