Method of dressing wheelwells and engine compartments?

I see alot of guys here using Meg's hyper dressing for these areas and would like to know how you go about applying the product? I usually don't dress wells or engine bays(just clean them thoroughly), but may start doing so. For the wells, do you spray them directly and spread with a towel or spray the towel then spread? What about engine bays?

i use HD 3:1 in the wells and engine (i prefer cd-2 in the engine). i like to use the finest spray mist pattern and usually don't wipe it down in the wells, but in the engine i do so lightly. just don't spray too heavily it's not really needed...

clnfrk- On the rare occasions when I dress anything other than tires, I put the product on some kind of applicator (cloth, swab, etc.) and apply with that. I don't even spray product on tires, just too great a chance of it getting someplace I don't want it.

OK, I can think of a *handful* of things I do spray...corrugated/etc. plastic where getting it into the recesses would be virtually impossible. But then I do that I take all kinds of precautions to prevent dressing overspray from getting on anything. Said overspray retains dirt something awful, even when I'm using supposedly "clean" dressings.

The engine compartment I never "dress" I simply keep it clean and just for preservation purposes, I'll spray the hoses, and other plastics with 303.

I use CD2 for engine and Bare Bones for tire wells. No need to wipe Bare Bones, just spray and walk away. I do lightly wipe CD2.

I use Hyperdressing diluted for satin finish. I spray lightly and walk away for the wheel wells. For the engine compartment, I either use the hyperdressing again diluted for satin finish. I will spray lightly and wipe off excess. I also like using the Sonus Motorkote, in which I just spray on and walk away and don't wipe off.

[quote name='AeroCleanse']I would look at Adam Undercarriage Spray for wheel wells....
I hardly ever use my Griot's Undercarriage Spray...it's just *so*messy! I guess it's not really a problem unless it gets on the wrong surface, but even getting it on the floor bugs me.
