This car is going to be turned in from a lease in a couple of months, so the owner wanted it cleaned up really well and as little swirling as possible. Very nice car (my first Mercedes), and not too bad to work on.

Interior:

Vacuum

Wipedown

Eagle One 20/20 on glass

Exterior:

Eagle One A2Z on wheels and tires

Meguiar's NXT wash

1Z PP with light cutting pad

AIO with polishing pad

NXT with finishing pad

OCW by hand

Armor All in wells and tires

Meguiar's Natural Shine on tires

In the 2nd to last picture the paint almost looks fatigued? Does the picture not do it justice, or are my eyes fooling me?

It looks like a combination of the metal flake and the high bright sun giving it a dull look. Looking at the other angles it looks good and there aren't any marks around the sunspot.

Nice work man and very reflective!

Yeah, sort of like twitch said, the sun and metallic played some funny tricks on the camera there.

Thanks, guys.

Very nice looking!

Am interested in the choice of products. In particular NXT. Was this chosen for it masking properties? Or were you looking to darken the paint? The paint surface looks terrific. You probably used a PC but you did not say. Will NXT last long enough to get it thru to the lease return?

Yes, I used the PC.

NXT just sounded good in this situation - nice looks and slight fillers just in case.

I feel comfortable that the AIO/NXT/OCW combo will be enough durability for 2 months.

It certainly is a good combo. The pictures tell us that.

Have read a lot of pros and cons about NXT. The best comment about the product was the fact that it darkens paint. It is something for me to consider because of my black truck. Have an OCW sample. Just have not had time to use it yet. Since it is a no haze wax this must have shorten your detailing time?

Thanks for the post!!

I really like the last photo, but the car looks great in all the shots.

NXT is a versatile product, compared to a lot of the pure sealants. It has a unique rich look which I do like on black, although I almost always top it. #16, #26, Z8, OCW are some nice toppers for NXT.

The Mercedes looks good, but I really wanna see some pics of that shiny red car I see lurking out in the street....

OCW over NXT... interesting. I really like both of those, but haven't tried them together yet. Ain't OCW grand?

I love NXT. I have the paste and I didn't have any durability issues with it. At least 3 months...

Excellent work, but the right front tire is seriousy deflated.

Zane, how do you like the 1Z polishes?

Thanks, everyone.

The NXT I have is the original (bought the first week it was released).

The front tire really wasn't low...just turned to the side, on an incline...it was fine in the garage.

Bence - I really like 1Z PP; it does a great job. I got it really thick on the driver's door, and it was pretty tough to get off, but other than that it always works well.

Tyler - that slow red thing in the background just came back from the bodyshop (*very* long story) and is in serious need of some polishing due to some detailing monkeys messing it up. After I get my new shocks put on this week, I'll get it polished up.
