It's very tempting but I think I'll pass... for now.

That Backing plate is it. You can't get one any smaller. For now

SpoiledMan said:I like my Dynabrade attachment. It cuts and finishes better than *any* other DA type machine that I've tried.
pampos said:i just received mine and I want to know if i can replace the plate with a smaller one of my UDM kit (5'' or 6'' or even 3.5'')or if i have to buy something familiar with the one that already attached.the UDM plates are fit but how safe they are??
Also if someone used this before what advises can give ??
gbackus said:I would not use anything smaller than a 6" or possibly a 5.75" with the dynabrade, otherwise you run the risk of severely cutting into your pads.
pampos said:is it so strong??that's nice :xyxthumbs
gbackus said:Also, I wouldn't run the machine at less than 2000 RPM's, otherwise it seems unbalanced. When I had one I always ran it at 3000 RPMs.
pampos said:i guess i have to use it like my UDM?? Working the polish at low speed and then at top speed moving the machine slowly or not?
gbackus said:I ALWAYS ran it at 3000 rpm, if you are limited to 2000 rpm, use that. You will get the most cut, and the nicest finish while using it at high speed.
pampos said:My rotary's higher RPM are 3000....How much polish i should put one the pad??How fast i have to move the polisher??Sorry for the questions but i will use it tomorrow and i want to know...
Thanks once again for answering :thx:thx:2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:
gbackus said:i'd probably use 10-20% more polish than you would normally use with a DA, but less than with the rotary.
As far as arm speed, not as fast as a rotary, not as slow as a DA, you have to really judge it for yourself.
