Merry Christmas Everyone! My sister came home the other day and it was in the 40's so I decided to FINALLY give her car a full detail. I have always done hand polishes and waxing but it always was swirled and I never had enough protection on it until she came home, so i decided to finally give it the overhaul it needed.
THe car was covered in swirls and many many scratches from what im guessing was a snowbrush, my sister takes 0 care of the car so i didnt attack the scratches, just the swirls.

Process:

Wash - foam gun loaded with Hi Temp bubbling suds
Opti Clay
Optimum polish via white lake country 7.5" polishing pad @ 1200 rpm
menzerna po106ff via white lake country 7.5" polishing pad @ 1500 on hood only
FK1 #2180 sealant - paint and glass
FK1 pink wax
FK1 Poorboys Nattys Blue
Wipe down with FK1 #425 QD

Lights received all of the LSP's as the car did.

Automagic Best dressed in wheels and tires diluted 3:1 (review soon)
OCW on plastic hubs
Sprayaway on glass

The damage on the back bumper was were she got rear ended, it will be painted shortly but I still gave it the works hehe. The front end damage im guessing was from a curb or a parking cement stop.... :(

Nice job as usual. But I have to ask, is there anyone in your family that doesn't own a red Cavalier?... J/K

Lookin good, but dude, debadging the chevy stuff is one thing, but you gotta get the dealership badge off of there.

I am with Jay. thought I was seeing double. Have not had a drink in months.:D

Another Cool detail. :rofl Not bad for winter in Minnesota

jaybs - haha. we get flack for that all the time haha. Its only me and my sister though

Fuzz - its not my car so i wasnt gonna mess with it. Beleieve me if it was mine i would take it off. I sure dont buy a car only to have it be advertising for a dealer...

cwcad - lol, high 30's this week, looks like i may do a little outside mobile work!

does she head to your car now, in confusion with hers? you really did do a good job. one question.

this is probbaly just u're personal preference, but any reason why a lot of u're details show the tires with a completely flat black, absolutely no gloss, look. despite the dressing u use?

its mostly just the lighting. I never like glossy tires but more of a low gloss. I will try to snag some good shots for ya in the sun.

Greg,

does the Blue add something special to the Pink? Which polish produces the better gloss for you, the O or the Menz? I am really satisfied with my OCP's gloss...

the blue added some glow and wetness. I was really impressed with the pink topped with the blue. hehe that would be about purple haha. Both OP and Menz create wonderful gloss but i would say that FPII takes the cake, 106ff wasnt amazingly glossy, seemed on par with OP.

Looks awesome, but what the hell is all that white stuff on the ground....and what is your "system" for working in it?

haha. My system is to have a garage with heaters running , but it was very nice when i did it. I had the garage open with no heaters for the better part of the day and I only closed the garage door so I could get better light on the vehicle.

Purple. The pink is great and I love the look but the extra bit the nattys blue added on top was excellent. I think i might do another coat of pink on my car tommarow if I wash it and then a blue, making purple haha.
