today the ferrari was a no show because who ever he brought his car too to be serviced couldnt get the oil and filter they needed to complete the job . and he couldnt drive it out because the filter was pulled and the oil was drained allready. "anyways" my sunday appt decided to come today because nj weather sucks and its supposed to be rain storm central here. anyways again i pulled it in the shop and noticed to wheels were chrome or at least they appeard to be with a years worth of break dust caked on them. but once i started the interior detail i got to thinking about a previous post by someone saying they have polish aluminum wheels . so i looked and scraped a little and sure enough they were. well i have done polished wheels before but they were allways clean. i read every cleaner i had and none of them were safe even after dilution . so i pulled up my snap on roller seat and a bucket of super hot water and got to no soap scrubbing. then i tried a little car wash. they came clean"er" then they were and then i was forced to finish the reast of the wash , paint clean dress and wax so i could sit down with blue magic old microfiber and my sore arm. i rubbed the shit out of those wheels . and they looked better then new. then the owner comes into the office and asks if i do after market mounting and balncing wich i do. so i asked why and he said he has a brand new set of chrome(not polished) wheels and new tires, (((((beacause the rims on the truck now were shot))))) he figured they would never ever come clean and they were ruined. :ranton :wall . i was pissed. and then i said come come in the shop in look at your wheels and he said i bet you couldnt get a damn thing off of them. he turned out to be more pissed then i because he went out and spend 85 hundred bucks on rims and tires for no reason. the best part is i was chargin him $140 for the full detail. He handed me $240 and i handed him back the hundred . i thought he gave 2 by mistake. and he says "keep it i can return those other rims " so i told him next detail he gets it half price. does anyone know of a cleaner for polished wheels (please)!!!!! sorry the post is so long and probly pointless but i hada tell someone and you guys all know the feeling or have a story im sure. thanks

Eagle One makes a Magnesium/Aluminum cleaner that works very well, both on my Vette's fully polished Rims and my Harley VROD's anodized wheels.

Suggest that he become a weekly/bi-weekly client, and wash them as you would the car. Every time you wash, apply a little wax to the rims -- or -- I have also found over the years that if I spray the dressing on the tires after washing (but before drying), and let it "overspray" on the rims, then dry them with a terry towel, at the end (after doing the windows) it helps keep the brake dust from sticking the next time I wash 'em.

i will try the cleaner . I will also recomend the idea of weekly and bi weekly washing for him . thanks for the help.
