Sorry if my pictures are too big. I noticed when I first got the website up, I let the client know and 90% of the reaction I got was, "Lets take a look at it". They would type in address on these huge 21 inch plus monitors with cable connection and noticed them squintting at these huge screens to look at pictures and I instantly knew that they had to be large. So after about 2 months of retaking pictures and adding new vehicles, I updated website and when the pictures filled up the huge monitor, "WOW" is all I kept hearing.

I guess i need to be more speciffic. I'm not talking about your personal site. I'm talking about here at detail city. Not all of us have 21 inch moniters, not all of us have cable hook ups. so WE have to deal with your HUGE pictures and sevral of them i might add. Its not to hard to resize them you know. You can do this in the "paint program" which every computer has. If you had a 56k modem you would INSTANTLY know that it takes forever to load "WOW".
So how about you do all of us that have 56k here at detail city a favor. Resize your pictures please!!

So you expect him to resize pics for the 15% of the US population still crawling around the internet through their dinosaur modems? Thats funny!

If the picture sizes bother you, go into your user cp on this forum and toggle them off. All pics will appear as links. And if you want to view any of them, you click on em. That feature is meant specifically for folks who don't have modern internet connections.

Sure would be nice of him to take a few moments before he posts and do that.

Beemerboy, I said wash and interior , not full detail. A full detail takes me 4 hours at most also. TrueDetailer, not my fault you can't afford DSL or better. You can reply so everyone else can read, but I'm out of here, erased all my info from profile, Adios and take care, Martin.

I do have cable. the problem is that i have to scroll left to right up and down just to see your photo. but its all good.

Maybe it's the hot weather, but it seems like the mood is somewhat less than cordial, lately.
Then again, maybe it's just the way I am reading some of the posts. :dunno

Just doesn't read like DC recently. Not interested in a group hug, but if I'm looking for confrontations, there's several other sites for that.
This is where we talk about taking care of cars. My way, your way, whatever way. Lots of ways to get the same basic results and I'm not smart enough to know which is the best way. Seems like they all work for me.

Some people relish in a confrontation......What I see in this case is Martin was not willing to except some requests to resize his pics, or questions about his processes or techniques.

It seemed to be his way or the highway from what I gathered.

Beemerboy, Charles, or anyone else concerned,

I agree with Beemerboy here. There was a post made last week by Martin to which several people had asked him to chill out!

Posting in all BOLD or Caps
Resizing pictures
Having a little more respect for the other members of the board.

It wasn't a personal attack it was more on the lines of showing some respect! We have been members of this site for a decent amount of time and we know how to make a post here. Other forums may find things like this acceptable. But I think that Charles is right about saying "mood is somewhat less than cordial" and i don't think it was intended to be.

Whenever I read one of these posts I felt as though I needed to back 30 feet away from my monitor just to make it look like every other post here on the forum. We are not here for a competition! We are here to share experience! Not be show offs and say look It took me 5 mins to detail this engine compartment and I ripped off the customer for $40.00! it would have been fine in my book if he had left it as 5min engine detail here's my process!!!!!

I don't want people to think that any of my comments were trying to be like a vigilante but after a few requests one would think that the guy would get the idea!

ive mentioned this more than 3 times already and ill say it again. lets not turn into other sites. where flame wars go for 7 pages. where respect is just a word and everything is a competition.

martin was an *ssh**e for stating his comments but that doesnt make us any better for attacking him for it. ignore the member and thats it. u'll see how quickly he'll leave or learn to post right once no-1 reads his comments or threads.

keep it nice, please.

GROUP HUG!!!!

lets eat some paste!

After giving this some thought, I'm game for hugging a bunch of sweaty female car detailers. Group or one at a time.:)

Now, are we done beating this poor thread like dead horse?

Personally I think it's over and we should move on to talking about detailing or at least hugging female detailers sweaty or not :D

the mini's cool. like a my new car a lot more but it was a great first car. the best way to elarn in my opinion is behind the wheel of a mini...

Back on topic. I LOVE detailing newer engine bays !!! SG + pressure wash and dress with a water based dressing.

I wish they were all this easy. BTW... I have never been one to cover electrical components on newer engines (knock on wood). These engines are basically watertight, and after what I estimate to be near a 1000+ engines, I have never had a problem with a fuel injected engine. I did have a tough go with an old (150K+ mile) Mercedes 190 E. I had to take apart the distributer and blow everthing out with compressed air.

:) I had trouble starting a 83 230SL(?) and it freaked the ish out of me. I usually cover the alternator and any aftermkt wiring like stereos and mods just for peace of mind.

Yea, I'd hug a hottie detailer any day.......

I agree Clean Dean. I never cover anything and I think it is technique of a professional detailer. If I took 30 min. to engine detail, I'd be loosing money.

Almost word for word what gave birth to this thread for the exception of the price.

I shared with you this TECHNIQUE OF A PROFESSIONAL DETAILER to help you all out but PCJazz started in with "Your lying and your comments don't jive." What do you expect me to do? :angry Just lay down and let someone tear down what I know what works from detailing 1000+ vehicles.

All I have too say is that the last few post back up my techniques.
If I had a problem with someone, I would have Private Message him, instead of making an a$$ of myself.

Your here, your out a here, now your back... make up your mind. Ok lets finish this! All I said was, I thought it took you more than 5 min. to do a proper engine detail. If you did it in 5, great! I really don't care. what does bug me though, is your attitude toward the business. Be a little humble once and a while. It's not all about "look at my s!#%, look how fast and how much I get!" work on some people skills and know when to talk and when not to. We're all here to share info and INTERESTING stories, learn how to take a little critisism once in a while. I've seen your work from time to time and it's nice.... from what I can gather off a picture. Nobody said you can't detail. what we are saying is just detail and don't tell us about it all the time! If you don't like my posts, you can ignore me, that's ok. I don't write to everyone either. I'm due appologize if I offended anyone and I agree that it should not be a web bashing site.
