Menzerna SIP and 106FF = Holy Grail!

I mentioned this in another thread, but I had to start a new thread because I still can't get over how great these products are! Simply incredible. I think the SIP says something on the bottle to the effect of "high performance polish". This is not marketing BS.

I had polished my yellow Protege 5 wagon about 4 weeks ago, using Poorboys SSR 2.5. This is a polish that I had used for quite a while. But when I was done with my claying, polishing with SSR 2.5 and applying the LSP, I was left uninspired. The paint just didn't glow like I wanted it to, and there was still some haze and swirls left in the paint.

Thus the search for a new polish began.

Menzerna SIP and 106ff were highly recommended here, so I bought both (despite the damage to my pocketbook).

I was somewhat skeptical, because I wasn't sure that a polish could really be that much better than others, including what I was using.

I was ignorant!

Using a 5.5 inch Orange low profile pad, I had no problems using the SIP at all. Using the PC, I was able to break down the polish just fine, and the working time seemed just right. When I removed the remaining polish with my MF, I was immediately impressed with what I was seeing. The SIP finished up very nice! It had obviously done a better job of correcting the swirls that remained after SSR 2.5, and the paint seemed to be much cleaner, with a much deeper look to it!

Followed that up with 106ff. This didn't seem to make as big an improvement from SIP (which wouldn't be expected), but it did seem to make the paint even wetter than after the SIP.

When finished with the 106ff, I sat back and admired my work. Actually, I admired the work that the Menzerna products allowed me to do! AMAZING!

How to describe the look? First, SQUEEKY CLEAN! Literally! My paint has NEVER been smoother. It is just sick how slick it is! I can't stop putting the back of my fingers across the paint to feel the slickness.

Menzerna also made the paint wetter than it had been by quite a bit. Very glossy. Still, I am lacking the description I am looking for that sets Menzerna apart.....

Perhaps this is it: I am getting more of a deep yet "sharp" mirror glow to the finish! The paint just really "pops" like crazy.

I just couldn't possibly be happier with the results, and highly recommend these products (especially the SIP) to anyone here, even if you only have the "lowly" PC! ;)

I know what you mean! I used the 106ff on my Vivid Red Lincoln LS and it made a world of difference. I will not use anything else but the Menzerna products from now on.

A few pics. These were taken in open shade. I used a flash on one of them.

LSP was OptiSeal (which I am also very impressed with).

Exactly where I am. I don't see how anything could improve on these products!

:getdown

Somebody will chime in and say that the same can be accomplished with other cheaper polishes. I've tried many others and there's simply a Menzerna difference. Oh yeah, the "filler" crew is on the way too.:D

My 6000th post! :D:D:D

note to self...must buy this in spring to play with (looks like this product carries the SpoiledMan seal of approval)

Both products are excellent. You will get a seal of approval on SIP and 106FF from a lot of people!!! If you don't have them in your arsenal, you really are missing out.

oh that's good to hear man.

after i finish using my sonus sfx polishes, these polishes will definitely be added to my detailing products.

I can achieve the same results with gravel. Besides, last time I used 106ff it filled in my inground pool. I can't find it anymore!

Since the 1st time I have used Menzerna I have not reached for another polish except to add a squirt of Opt Polish on my pad to reduce dusting

I am curious have any of you compared the Menzerna Power Gloss compound to SIP?

I ordered Power Gloss for my Heavy Cut Polish, Optimum Polish for my mid grade and 106ff for my finishing polish. I have only used the Optimum Polish one time so far on a heavily swirled black Lexus and wasn't super impressed with the results I got so I tried the Power Gloss and it worked awesome except for the major dusting. I have seen on other posts where people have mixed in a little Optimum with Menzerna to cut down on the dusting, Motorcity can you share the ratio you use please.

3 parts Menzerna and 1 part Opt Polish is my regular ratio... On a few occasions I had to add a bit more Optimum but I think that was becuase of the ambient temperature.

Hey, a little gravel *will* reveal the fine metal finish under the paint.:D

I should mention that I did an Alcohol wipe down after polishing. I haven't seen any signs of filling myself. Have you?

If you see your regular customers enough, the supposed filling properties don't matter anyway. If you start to see marks that you thought you had previously removed...polish again. Not a big deal.

Very nice looking. The paint looks great and the yellow is screaming... LOOK AT ME while at the same time it's got a very warm glow.

On a side note, I appreciate the picture of the car in your driveway. I had to show my fiance that I am not crazy and that other people cut their lawns in a diagonal fashion. Thanks my friend for showing her that I am not "that weird". We Autopians share OCD habits that make others shake their head sometimes :lol :xyxthumbs
