Menzerna Power Lock polymer sealant

Great. That is good information to know. I am about ready to pull the trigger on ordering a bottle (Propercarcare.com has $2.99 flat rate shipping right now).
 
I just got my mpl on thursday and used it on a black tahoe. the product spread really nice by hand and i used maybe 2 tablespoons of product to cover the entire truck. the product dusted a little but nothing major. after taking the product off i could see the factory orange peel, like it made the orange peel pop? if that makes any sense. after looking at it for a minute or so the peel started to bother me and made me wonder what it would look like on a paint with really nice flake in it!
 
I have just finished double coat MPL on my car. What i found it seems create lots of static that attract dusts. Not sure if other experience similar situation ?

The other suspicion I have is MPL hides less imperfection compared to Menzerna FMJ+AHSG, anyone has compared this before ?

However I like the slickness and great water beading property of MPL
 
I love Menzerna's polishes, only products I use. However, I've been turned off by their sealants, especially FMJ (horrible durability) and HGAS (horrid application).



I was about to replenish my DG TPP when I ran across this. Give it to me straight, is it worth the extra $15?



Durability is the name of the game for me here as I use AG HD on top for the shine.

Then stick with DG.
 
I notice the same thing with static too. It defiantly attracts dust to the car. But i tried the OCW afterwards and it was streaking. I tried the two MF towel trick too. I think its just too hot here.

Keep in mind neither of those two are made by Menzerna - just labeled as such. Genuine Menzerna products work.

So is the Power Lock Polymer Sealant a "true" Menzerna product??



Curious, but who made the HGAS? It feels and smells awfully close Eimann Fabrik Clear Pearl II (I still prefer the EF product though).

Did you copy this directly from Autogeek's website? Do you really think Power Lock is made by Menzerna?

HGAS was branded as such by the folks at PAC, as is Eimann Fabrik (which I really like). They were licensed by Menzerna to use the name. The fact that these are similar is no coincidence.



Power Lock is not "true" Menzerna. They have it made and put their name on it. Good stuff non the less. I am sure if you dig around you will find there are many products made by a few companies with private labels or major company names branded on them. It doesn't detract from the product. If you try it and like it, what's the big deal?



So far, I like the Power Lock. It's a bit like Blackfire, so I wonder who makes it....hmmmm. As far as static goes, I get that when using MF. Always wondered if it were the towel or the product. And the dust attraction I think has something to do with products containing silicone. That should fade after the product cures and a wash or two.

Would it help to put a QD like CG Clear Seal over it to help with the static?

I haven't tried that. I use QD products after the initial application for touch ups and do not have the static issues. So maybe that would work if it didn't affect the curing of the initial application. Maybe I will give it a shot and see what happens. Thx.

I never said Power Lock is made by Menzerna - I would say it isn't - Menzerna only make polishes.
 
I ended up getting it because I needed something quick (I had already started working on my car) and for reasons beyond me, Proper Auto Care doesn't carry Duragloss products.



Do I like it? Yeah, it's not bad. Applying it was super easy with PC DA and red pad. Wiping it off took a little more effort than DG TTP, which is generally effortless. Shine wise, it definitely made the black stand out. How much better is it than the rest, can't really tell. I topped it off with AG HD (first time use), which was also a pain to wipe off compared to my usual P21S favorite.



I did the Merc just the weekend before with TTP and P21S, so it was my favorite old combo with the new combo. We'll see which holds up more.



Forgot to add that I've noticed the static buildup as well right after applying it. The hairs on my arm were all standing up. But once I applied the AG HD, gone.

On the bottle it indicates something like "made for Menzerna" I don't have the bottle in front of me but could take a pic of it. This indicates that it is not a home grown Menzerna product.



So far I have heard great feedback on it from the customers that have tried it.
