Menzerna Power Finish: personal experiences?

Hi all,

I am having trouble finding many personal experiences people here have had with this product. It sounds great - a one step swirl remover that leaves a glossy finish.

I would like to get some but am hesitant until I read more feedback. I have once tried Menzerna IP and FP and didn't have a lot of success. I was using too much product and failed to work it enough, I believe. It was very difficult to remove the IP.

My main concern with Power Finish is they say darker cars may need a finer polish after Power Finish, which sort of defeats the purpose of a one step polish. My car is black.

Anyway, would love to know what you guys who've used it think of the product. Thanks!

Some have gotten PF to finish LSP ready. Darker colors may need 85rd to finish down properly. BTW no one iincluding Menzerna claimed that PF is a one stepper.

Thanks, Legacy99.

Well some folks are sure trying to sell it as a one step polish:

Menzerna Power Finish PO 203, one step polish, swirl remover, finishing polish, car polish, german car polish, menzerna polishing compounds, power

Also on Menzerna's own website:

Menzerna USA: The World's Finest Polishing Materials

"PowerFinish PO203S - Part of the Menzerna family of polish for scratch-resistant clears, PowerFinish is suitable for both OEM and aftermarket applications. This new formulation can eliminate 2000 grit sanding marks on fresh clears and provide a higher level of gloss than previously possible. In most applications, it is a true one-step polish."

I too was once like you. Clueless and undecided. Until one day my detailing friend told me to get some Menzerna Polish. Which was the Power Finish. I used it on a PC with 4" Green Pads from Lake Country. With 2 passes on my black lexus. I would have to say O M G. You can see the gloss instantly and the fine scratches and swirls I would have to say 90% gone after 2 passes. It is also recommended that you also get the P085RD. That is the finishing polish which is very helpful for darker vehicles. Use that with a fineesing pad.

Thank you, GS4! It's good to know you had success on a black car!

Do you feel you need to use the 85RD on black or is that just the official recommendation?

(And I just realized I need to change my avatar to my new car! :grinno: )

I have used SIP, Power Gloss and 85RD (and the glaze). If I use Power Gloss I use 85RD afterwards. If I use SIP I general go to an LSP.

He's talking about power finish, not power gloss.
