It has been a while since 106FF has been discussed. I was wondering if more people or the original people could update there opinions on this product.

My understanding is that 106FF can be used as a 1 product polish for scratches in the 2/3000 grit area to final polish before LSP. Is this correct?

It is the best polish I've used on my hard VW clearcoat. I usually apply it via Cyclo.

It's also great-looking--I almost wanted to stop after the polishing stage lol.

I used it for the first time yesterday with the PC, and found it really easy to get on with. Just a little disappointed that it was a very fine polish, as I needed something a little more aggressive. However, you can still see the difference as I done half off one of the rear wings to see what happens.

So all in all, it's a good buy, but remember it's very fine and therefore only really useful for maintaining a good finish with maybe fine hairline scratches to get rid off (max).

Still love PO106ff. I usually use something a bit stronger to remove 2 or 3000 grit scratch first. I like 3m's PI III.

I have lots of 3M PIII 05933 and 05937 (2 gallons of each now), however I wanted something with a better cut on hand for the new Super hard clears.

On the Menzerna web site it is said to handle scratches from 2500 to LSP ready for the PO106FF.

The 3M PIII 05933 is for bad scratches/swirls, and the 05937 is for light scratches/swirls to LSP ready, at least this is the way I read it. I have never seen a chart with a numerical rating for size scratch removal with the PIII polishes. If you think different please expound.

PO106FF is a finishing polish with some cut (2.5/5). I polished cars with black Lake Country, rotary and PO106FF. Just one step and amazing results. You'll need a more agressive polish if the defects are bigger or the clear coat ir harder, but if you finish with this polish, the results will be amazing.

Regards.

Maseal, 2.5/5 is a fair amount of cut actually. As I said above it is basically for the new "Super Clears" that I'm getting it. I haven't spoken to anyone who doesn't think it is not a world class type finishing polish, you also!

I am just not sure at this point that the 3M PIII 05933 will take care of deeper scratches in these super clears efficiently (cut)!

About all everyone talks about is the PO106FF, but what Menzerna polish is associated as a companion to 106FF for deeper scratches, whatever, as a one/two punch on super clear coats? Do you see where I am going with this?

I feel confident on the products I have to take care of most problems. However when a "hard coat" rears it's head, I don't want to be under gunned by product on hand and have to stop and order.

With a hard clear coat, you'll need something more abrassive than PO106FF.

I use with hard clear coats 3M 09374 Fast Cut with Propel v2 PADs (orange, yellow). You'll remove the defects. After that combo, follow with PO106FF and a finishing PAD (like black LC, the results will be amazing.

I understood you, trust me. Take a look here.

I wanted to have the more agressive polishes because I prefer an agressive polish more than an agressive PAD.

I tried Presta Ultra Cutting Creme last week and it was superb on a original Mercedes clear coat (not CeramiClear, a Glasurit one, but very hard).

Regards.

How similar was Presta to 106FF? And how could to tell the Mecedes Clearcoat was Glasurit, the VIN?

The Mercedes is my father's car, wich I know very well :up

I didn't compare 106FF and 1500 Polish, I should place the comparison in the next detail, to check wich finishes better with a finishing PAD (always via rotary). The finish obtained via rotary + Green Propel v2 + Ultra Cutting Creme was very clear, nice polish (compound). I'll update the post when I've results.

Hi,

For me PO85RD 3.01 is for deeper scratches and is designed to be finished with PO85RD.

and PO106FF for finer scratches which can be followed up directly was a LSP.

Note that Blackfires range is almost identical to Menzerna. (Blackfires range has more lube).

Menzerna PO85RD 3.01 = Blackfires Compound

Menzerna PO106FF = Blackfires Finishing Polish

Cheers
