Menzerna On A CL600

Had lots of cars to do today, several washes and two details. First detail was on a 911 Porsche but the owner came back before I could take some pictures:(

I was able to finally use the Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze (FTG) and I am very pleased with the results. It goes on easy, a little elbow grease is needed, breaks down nicely and does not smear or gum up like #7 or IHG.

I need to try it with my Cyclo or the PC and see how that works out.

I first cleaned/polished the paint with Light Cut applied with my Cyclo, then the FTG and then topped it with FMJ. FMJ is a great product, I love the Menzerna line more and more, each time I use them.

I was hoping for more sun and I wish I had more time to lay down a coat of Pizazz on top of the FMJ as the FMJ does not leave a very "wet" appearance.

Emjoy the pics,
Anthony

Nice work. What did you use to clean the wheels. ?

Thanks Frozen, I used Light Cut to polish the wheels. They are not topped with anything because..........well.............I forgot to:lmfao Actually you just reminded me of that but oh well, they look pretty good with just the Light Cut eh?

Adios,
Anthony

Now I would like to see the Pizzaz on top of this since you don't think the FMJ left it looking very wet....looks slick in the pics! Nice job. I've also got to search on your glass prep. Beautiful glass!

Great job once again Anthony :bigups

That's a nice combo for silver - would like to see pizazz topping it off

Just ordered some Pizzaz in fact. I was impressed with Menzerna IP and FP.....might just have to pick up the newbies :D

Looks great my man, and that is one beast of a car....better than that beater of a beemer 7 you did the other day :lmfao

Thank You:)

As for the glass, I used "Light Cut". Very versatile product! Place a small amount on your applicator pad or works also with a PC or Cyclo. I then finished the glass off with some EagleOne 20/20.

I wish to thank you all for your compliments, much appreciated:)

I also noticed that none of the pictures show a full shot of the Mercedes so I just resized this profile shot.

Ive detailed probably over 5 CL's throughout Palm Beach, and they're simply a JOY to work with. The CL body construction lacks the 'C' pillar that most other cars have, giving it a continuous and sleek shape that beautifully flows.

The CL 600 is by all means a sleeper when you from the outside in. However, please note that there is a monstrous V-12 that i beleive pushes roughly 493hp!!!

Great work Anthony....the pics would portray your hard efforts MUCH better if you had a little more sunlight i beleive.

;)

That I believe is a pre 2003 CL600 which didnt have the bi-turbo V12 that pushs 500HP they are all underated to 493 to not hurt the CL55 sales.

I stand corrected :bigups

Got to admit that I'm a little chicken-sh*t to put my PC on the glass. I'm not familiar with "light cut". Is it a glaze? It really has diminishing abrasives? Or is it more chemical like AIO? I'll have to look that up. I use EO 20/20 and I know that by itself, any water spots are still there.

Thanks for the tips and the side shot. I couldn't put my finger on it, but Badmother is right...the missing pillar makes the shape look as smooth as its paint.

I have actually used my high speed rotary on glass so the PC or the Cyclo is really very safe......in a relative manner:rolleyes:

Light Cut is not so much a mechanical cleaner/polish as it is a chemical one. It is safe to use on glass and plastic. Here is a link http://www.topoftheline.com/hitligcutswi.html

It works best when used with a high speed rotary but if the paint is in good to fair condition it will make great improvements to that piant with either a PC or by hand.

Hope that helps,
Anthony

Hey Anthony,

I haven't been on much this weekend, but wanted to thank you for the tips and encouragement. I still can't believe you folks on this site have convinced me to put power tools to my paint (and a wimpy PC... not a rotary)....but now my glass??? OK, I'll give it a try. Especially since our 2 month old vehicle has H2O spots on the windshield.

Thanks for your help (I love this site!)
