Thanks to Premium Auto care and Excel Detail for the products!

I have to say also, you'd be hard pressed to find better than the Menzerna line up. I'd say the now more available "PO" twins have got to be some of the best in the business. I don't think I'd ever stay with Menzerna exclusively, it's always good to have some other brands on tap too but Menzerna definitely seems worthy of earning an excellent reputation :bigups

I'm not sure what else to try...the FMJ is going to last a LONG time ....

I'll have to get some more FP II and Glaze soon. When I put my order in I'll have to get some IP...

Menzerna makes some good stuff.......... that's for sure. I've only tried the FP II, and IP in their line of polishes. I really love the FP II, but I'm not quite as fond of the IP. However, they will certainly get the job done! :bigups

Well, if I understood correctly, not all of the Menzerna products are actually made by Menzerna in Germany. The FMJ for example: made by CMA's chemists using the Menzerna brand name under license. Don't get me wrong, this certainly doesn't mean it's not a good product or anything like that

Yeah, I like Menzerna products too. I just love that squeak when you are done polishing. But lets face it: Are there really any "bad" products? Everything seems to work well. People just have different preferences.

You forgot "NuFinish" Remember the junkyard car and the lighter fluid on fire? hahaha

I really like the Menzerna line because there's no oil in the product. With other products I used : Meguiars show car glaze, etc. I always had to wash the truck after each coat---wash, clay, polish, wash, glaze, wash, #26, wash.

The menzerna line saved the washing because it didn't leave that haze/film on the car. I'm stuck on this stuff for life unless something as well as this comes along cheaper.

Hey HD Nice Job, alot of work isn't it LOL, but the results are well worth it. Couple of questions: first did you clay the car after washing and drying,if not that could be one of your problems, i have noticed this is a very important step to getting a perfect finish. Second did you use a PC 7424 or 7336 on all your steps, being experienced at this for many years a circular buffer makes short work of lite compounding after the clay but for the beginer it is best to stick to the orbital and just work alittle longer, plus when you were done with the compounding did you wipe entire car down with 50%water50%ISO alcohol this step cleans all residue left behind and the compounding or intensive polish (menzerna) I prefer yellow form pad start at 3 and if not satisfied increase speed and don't let the product dry out, buff it and then wipe off with micro fiber and look at results and if not satisfied more product and higher speed then i move onto polish with white pad and same steps as before when satisfied move onto glaze with black pad and when satisfied move onto wax with red pad. I have always gotten good results but never tried menzerna yet have my order but still have snow on ground and way to cold to be playing. But you did a GREAT JOB all this is my opinion and will be others giving there what ever works for you keep doing it,your results came out the same and that is good.

Yep, I'm a big fan of Menzerna too. I use a few polishes..., but Menzerna is always on the shelf.

I received a bottle of their new (or new for consumers...) P085RD polish last night.

Despite the rainy conditions in the NE, I decided to give it a shot on the hood of our Tahoe. I S&W'd the hood, taped her off and applied my first coat. If you have ANY fill in your paint, kiss it good bye. I had a few decent scratches, so I decided on a pass of IP before continuing on. This cleared up the the scratch problem.

I applied it using a rotary with an Edge2000 blue polishing pad. I misted my pad lightly with S&W, applied 2 nickle size drops on the pad, wiped the polish on the surface to lube the pad and started out at 1000, then finished at 1700. I did not experience any dusting at all. The polish breaks down (almost disappears) quick. I use 50/50 mix of water and isopropyl alcohol to wipe off the residue.

If it's nice over the weekend, I'll take some better shots in the sun. In person, the hood was glowing. The best it's ever looked.

I just got some samples( thanks gary :headbang ) of the
Power gloss
IP and FP.

Can someone explain to me how to use them. It will be going on a black passat. There is some swirls, and water spots on the hood only. The rest of the car only has I would say medium swirls.

I have a pc and white pads, orange pad, and a black pad.

00GREENMACHINE:

I'll assume you're using a PC.

Hold off on the Power Gloss. It's a VERY heavy cut compound. Unless you have some serious paint defects or wet sanded, leave it on the shelf. To be honest with you, PG is best suited for a rotary. I don't use it very often.

Here's what I do with IP and FPII to take out swirls/scratches (light to moderate).

I usually use an Orange pad. Mist the pad lightly with S&W (or water).
PC set to 5.5
Draw a thin 'X' on your pad, and smear it on your paint to prime it.
Work the product in until it starts to lightly dust.
Wipe off with 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol/water
Inspect. If you've gotton 80% or better out, I switch to a polishing pad and when I draw the 'X' -1 line is IP, and the other is FPII.
Finish up with an application of FPII on a polishing pad, PC set between 4-5, to remove any marring from the orange pad.

Good Luck!
