Menzerna Intensive Polish or Pinnacle Swirl Remover

Just how aggressive is Menzerna IP ? I have used Meg #80 on my car to remove defects but it took lots of time and multiple passes, but I'm worried the IP may be too agressive for my black finish. Thoughts.

I have not used #80, but I understand Menzerna IP to be slightly stronger (depending on pad choice). IP is best followed by FP on black paint, but it's a really great combo.

Its an Awesome combo!! My custom black paint got real hazy when I used IP to remove buffer swirls. It worked great. The FPII took the haze right out and brought it to a high gloss. I use IP for spot repairs and scratch removal all the time. IP has some good cut to it, be careful with your pad selection! Try a small spot first!

Sounds like IP and FPII are what I should go for. Any pictures of some black cars after they have been polished with thes products? Can Somone post? What about these others that have been brought up like 106? Should I ditch the IP and FPII for it? I want to see some pictures of results on black cars. Thanks guys. :)

Heres a pic of my door after IP. My first experience with it. Like I said, it might haze the clear coat. At first i got a bit woried. But the FPII cleared it right up.

I'm not really a picture taker. I would do this for you but it looks like we're going to be a bit sun deprived for the next couple days. If I can make something happen for you in the next few days I will though.:)

Thanks for the pics guys. They all have great look to it. Wow intercooled that buick looks insane. I love how the black looks on your car. SpoiledMan, I would appreciate it if u did spend the time to post a pic. :) Is it raining in southern Cali? Cause it's pourin up here in Northern Cali. I have yet to hear an argument against IP and FPII. I guess it's just that good.

We're getting ready for the rain. It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow. It's in mild need of a touch up anyway so I'll be able to get some before and after shots.

I used the Menzerna twins for the first time back in July and I must say I will never reach for another compound/polish. It's AMAZING on black and dark colored cars, those two products used as a paint prep leaves the finish looking so reflective and deep it appears as if it's already been sealed and waxed. Before I started using IP and FPII most of my shine came from the wax I applied. Now the sealant and waxes applied only deepen the gloss slightly.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to snap any before photos of the heavy swirls and water spots, but after:

-2 passes with Menzerna Intensive Polish

-2 passes with Menzerna Final Polish II

-1 Coat Klasse AIO Sealant

-3 coats Klasse Sealant Glaze

-Topped with Pinnacle Souveran Carnauba Wax

I'm Left With.... <----- PICS!!

The Menzerna made the most difference out of all the products used.

BadSL65AMG damn your acura is lookin good. That black sure does pop. What pads did u use and what speed on the PC (assuming u used a PC and not a rotary)? Man I need to learn how to get these results. Any tips on what clay bar to use? I've never used one and I'm a little worried I may screw up my car.

Menzerna IP

-Yellow Compounding (First Pass)

-White Pad (Second Pass)

FPII

-White Polishing Pad (Both passes)

Klasse AIO

-White Pad dampened with QD

-Removed with Megs GC Microfiber

Klasse SG (3 Coats, 12hrs curing time between each, might be difficult if you don't have another car to drive while leaving the one you're working on parked in a garage.)

-Hand Applied with terry applicator dampened with Megs QD

-Removed with Terry Pad

Pinnacle Souveran

-Hand Applied w/ foam applicator pad

-Removed with Megs GC Microfiber towels.

On both the Firehawk and the Mercedes I've owned them both since they were new, and they've never seen the elements. All they required was a couple coats of SG and Pinnacle because both paints were flawless.

Edit: I forgot to add, I clayed the car prior to the IP with Mothers Clay and QD, though I've heard good feedback from a friend that tried the Pinnacle PolyClay.

Here's a car I did with IP & FP2 (FYI not too much sun in the picture though). I would love to get my hands on some 85 or 106 though.

Clean Audi. I like very much. :) By the looks of it I got my work cut out cause my IS300 has a crap load of swirls. :( I wish I would have known better when I bought the car. Oh well gotta learn the hard way. I hope to see more pictures these are great. I have a lot of expectations to live up to. :)

I must say, I thought the same thing when I looked at my Acura up close and personal. The amount of swirls was unbelievable, and the blue metallic flakes normally present in this color paint were nowhere to be found. I’ve cleaned and detailed all of my cars in the past, as well as family member’s cars. However, I didn’t have even close to the knowledge I do now. I didn’t think I would be able to do it, I never had to work with such damaged paint, it was too hard and I had little time. I contacted quite a few professional detailers, and realized they probably wouldn’t put the kind of effort into it that I would. Therefore, I made it a point to get on the internet and read until my eyes hurt. These forums caught my eye, with information coming from not only professionals but also others like myself. I signed up and then searched and searched, and read thread after thread on the best products and procedures. Then I came up with a procedure and had other critique it, and from there I learned about the Menzerna line, and how products I had used in the past (i.e.- 3M Swirl Remover for Dark Colors) were only fillers and that’s why the swirls were back with a vengeance after just a few washes. I also realized that “the absorber I was using to dry the car with was only creating more swirls. I’ve found since I live in a condo, and we are not allowed to wash cars in the lot. The best way for me to keep my car clean and swirl free is a bottle of quick detailer or the like, and two, plush micro fiber towels (one for spreading QD and removing heavy soil, and one for removing what’s left and finishing). I’ve managed to keep my car swirl free since my last full detail back in August, which in my opinion is good considering it’s my daily driver and it stays parked outside while the Mercedes occupies the garage. I will leave off saying, get yourself a PC and the Menzerna twins. I'm positive it will be a lot easier than you think and you will love the results.

Well, the paint is soft so that helps. If you dedicate 4-5 hours to the paint you will be more than happy with the results.
