Menzerna Intense Polish, Final Polish, and FMJ your experience with these?

Hey people, I havent been on here for a very long time. I recently bought Menzerna Intense Polish, Final Polish and FMJ.

I used those three in the order i listed them, and layered the fmj twice. I also topped it with S100.

What is your experience, how long does the FMJ last?

Also, what other sealants do you guys consider to be the best right now? I have been out of the loop for a long time, and Im trying to get back in.

Also let me know if the process I used was the correct one?

Thanx,

Eduardo :thx

Personally, I love FMJ. So damn easy to use and lasts a couple months in my experience. Another sealant that people rave about is Jeff Werkstatt's Acrylic Jett Trigger, which is fairly new. I am going to order some whenever they get back in stock.

I have used this exact combo many times with very good results.

IMO FMJ lasts a few months. On my vehicles I always use HGAS after every two or three washes so the protection was extended.

I never felt the need to top this combo with a wax.

30% RMG mixed in with IP will get you longer working times and less dust. I finally tried it this w/e on a red vette. I also did 106ff/RMG combo and it just seemed like you could work it forever with the green propel pad. I tried the 106ff/RMG combo with both a PC @ 6 and rotary @ 1500 with the same excel green pad. I think the rotary side was a little better, but nothing the average person could tell.

Thanks to RAG and Scottwax for these excellent combos.

You're welcome...Glad to be able to contribute somewhat. If you use the RMG/Menzerna combo and change pads every frew pannels, you'll only have 1/5th the dust you would otherwise using Menzerna straight up and a single pad for the entire car.

I don't even bother experimenting with other sealants I like FMJ so much. If you already have some, Eduardo, no need to look elsewhere. On my own vehicles I get at least 4 or 5 months of protection...but longevity depnds on a lot of factors...like the environement, how you wash, and of course a good QD will continously add a little protection.

What's RMG? Thanks

It's Clealkote's Red Moose Machine Glaze. It is a great product and exteremly easy to use, it brightens reflections, adds depths and clarity, but most importantly unlike most glazes, it is easy to apply and remove.

Does the mixing decrease the cutting ability? The only mixing I had tried were the Optimum polish and compound.

RAG, Next time I will change pads more often. There may of been a little bit of dust from the 106ff/RMG combo, but since I was using PG/wool before that it was no big deal.

Have you tried PG/RMG yet? It would be nice to reduce the dusting of PG.

Just a little from what I have read in the past from RAG.

While I was using my 106FF/RMG combo yesterday for the first time and saw the dust launching into the air, I had to wonder... how many of you guys wear masks while working with this stuff?

That ultra fine cut polish can't be good for the lungs...

Would Menzerna's Glaze produce similar results? I'm going to be using IP/orang pad and FP/white pad with the PC on my red Vette to try to get the swirls out. I was planning on following with the glaze to cover up whatever swirls I'm not able to remove from the clearcoat. Would mixing the glaze with the polish eliminate the need for and extra glazing step?

Thanks for any suggestions...... :thx

I personally would not use RMG to hide imperfections if I was going to follow with FMJ. The glaze Menzerna sells to go with FMJ helps the bonding of FMJ to the paint. It does a bit of hiding but not much. If you want to hide stuff, use Glaze, FMJ, plus Natty's Blue. That'll hide it all and keep the paint itself protected nicely.

Never even considered that cocktail...wow!

Not a lot to add to this one, but I've used IP and FPII and absolutely love both. FMJ is on the 'to be purchased' list. My favorite sealant is Four Star's UPP, and I confess to loving it so much that I've not seen the need to look elsewhere. That said, I do have Poorboys EX-P in the arsenal. I generally only use it when I'm forced to work in direct sunlight. Great product, I've just found UPP to be better.

I did the rmg/pg combo yesterday, definitely less dust. It did not seem to hurt cutting ability.

aAs for IP/FPII/FMJ, IP is my go to in most cases, FPII I use quite a bit (but less than IP) finishes down nicely but I find it doesn't take out marring as well as say, Megs 80. FMJ is definitely a goodun', it applies and removes so easily (and looks good to boot), hard not to like it. HGAS is an added bonus.

Thanks for sharing, was it 70% PG and 30% RMG?

Probably more like 40/60 rmg/pg once I got going. At first I was sort of frustrated so I was just using PG straight but once I got going I decided to cut it with the RMG to get rid of some of the dust. I couldn't tell you the exact ratio, but ya, 60/40 sounds about right. It still dusted, but definitely less and the working time was longer (and wipe away wasn't hurt either, which was nice).

QUESTION:

I read that many people use the

1)Menzerna Intensive Polish

2)Menzerna Final Polish II

3)Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket

Combo.

If I were to include Menzerna PO106FF in the formula, where would it go? Would it be added to the list, or would it replace one of the previous products? What do you apply each of these with(yellow, orange, wool pads)?
