Hello, im new to these forums but not to detailing. This is a great site for learning things when you THINK you know just about everything there is to know about the fine art of detailing. Its obvious now you guys can teach this old dog some new tricks. Just curious to know if I could use my Metabo rotary with Menzerna final touch glaze even though it states on the back (for use with an orbital buffer or a DA or by hand) I havent used any Menzerna products yet and I want to start. Should i follow the directions and not use the Metabo (because I dont currently have an orbital or PC), or should I just go for it and see what happens? :dunno I dont want this >> :brick to happen! Thanks and im looking forward to learning a lot more from you guys and gals here.

I'm not certain but I would think that if you ran your rotary on its slowest speed it would be fine. Also make sure you use a finishing pad...Let us know how it comes out!

I've used it with a DW849 set to 1000 using a finish pad with good results. Your metabo runs as low as 700, right? Use a low speed and you'll be fine.

How do you like the metabo? I've been eyeing one for quite a while, but haven't convinced myself to part with 3 Benjamin's and change. I've heard that they are fantastic pieces of equipment. I'm jealous!

You will really like the Menzerna line. I'd suggest getting the kit + a bottle of intensive polish if you want to sample most of their product line. It's also the least expensive way to get a hold of FMJ sealer, which is a very nice product as well.

hey thanks for your replys...
Sopranos..... Its lowest speed is 700 RPM so ill give that a try,(kinda how i would wax the car with the Metabo)
MGM.... Ive heard nothing but great things about the entire Menzerna line. I bought the whole line-up. How bad does the paint have to be before using the Power Gloss? About the Metabo....Perfection. Ive used them all at one point or another and its the best rotary in the world. Just my opinion though. :dancin Its worth the money.

IMO the paint has to be pretty neglected to break out Power Gloss. If the paint is bad enough to consider wet sanding, then power gloss is the ticket. I call it 'Liquid Sandpaper' It works very well.

Thanks for the feedback on the metabo. I'm about 99% sure that I'm going to buy one. I haven't heard a single negative from any of the owners (other than the cost).

Post some pictures/review after you try out the Menzerna line.

thanks MGM I will post them if I can figure out how to use this dang computer! :angry Yeah, the cost was pretty steep but its well worth it. Itll probably outlive me! :rolling
