Menzerna FP or 1Z MP plus UPP question?

Has anyone here used Menzerna FP or 1Z MP and gone straight to UPP?



I was thinking adding AIO between these steps but wouldnt the AIO ruin any benifit of the FP or MP?
 
The AIO wont hurt the FP. One of the big selling points of the Menzerna line is that it has no fillers that will get in the way of your sealants and their ability to bond to the surface. The AIO won't do anything to it, because with FP...what you see is what you get, there are no gloss-enhancing oils or fillers to clean off with AIO and there is nothing to hinder the action of your sealant.



I wish I could offer input with the 1z stuff, but I have no experience with it firsthand.
 
Yes, I just followed 1z with the FP, really just for fun. Probably looks most noticeable on dark colors. I then used AIO to prime for SG :up
 
Bill D would you reccomend Klasse SG or UPP for a car that sits outside 24/7? Also what do you think offeres more depth?

If you don't mind the time, then sure, using both FP and AIO would be great.



I haven't yet tried UPP but many here like it. I'm pretty sure SG topped with UPP is a winning combination :up

For some reason I thought you couldnt top another sealent with a sealent?

I've used UPP (formerly known as Platinum) over 1Z MP with great results on my silver S8. The UPP seemed to bond to the MP just fine, and that was one great looking, and VERY slick finish. It lasted several months, and during the post-deer incident repairs, the shop had to use lacquer thinner to get it off (PrepSol wouldn't do it).



If you go with FP instead of MP, no problem using AIO- the FP doesn't leave stuff (wax) behind the way MP does. UPP would work just fine over FP.



So in either case, no need to use AIO unless you want to.
 
Here is my current "method"



(1) Last step polish is ALWAYS FP - for the reasons stated above



(2) AIO x 2 twice just in case I missed a spot the first go-round



(3) SG x 3



then



UPP and SG layers in random order, using SONUS as the QD in between - all are some form of acrylic and all interact without incident. SG is smoothe and shiney, but UPP adds a whole lot more slickness to the SG underneath.
