Menzerna FMJ: Anyone used it?

Just got a bottle of this stuff to try out and read some of the reviews on the other boards. It looks to be a pretty good product. I put on a layer tonight and I must say, it comes off easier than the UPP. Haven't taken the car out of the garage to see how it compares but I'm curious if anyone else has used it and what they think of this sealant.

I absolutely love the entire Menzerna line, including FMJ. IMO it is the best sealant on the market, something that I usually reserve for my own car at $40 for 16oz. Do yourself a favor here and leave the car in the garage, wait 24 hours and put on another coat. With 2 or 3 coats of FMJ your car will look amazing and be protected until May, atleast. The only negative I can find to this product other than the price is that there are no larger sized bottles available. They also released a compainon QD that I am going to order once I FMJ the Jetta again. Great choice.

well, CMA just sent a newsletter with information on the new detail spray and it sounded interesting. i went to the site and ordered the menzerna detail spray to make a personal test as to its ability to live up to its hype.

right now i am testing menzerna detail spray on the hood of my truck. on the tonneau cover on the back i am using the four star detail spray on one half and pinnacle mist on the other half.

i used AIO to take everything off with pc and lc vc white pad. then final polish ll with pc and lc vc white pad. followed by finishing touch glaze with pc and lc vcwhite PAD. with FMJ x2(12 hours between coats) and pc/ lc vc grey pad.

i used poorboys spray and wipe with plush mf to clean the whole area first and used blackfire clay to do the hood. the tonneau cover did not need it.

the sides of the truck still have mequiar's products on it as well as the roof. those areas have last detail spray as the QD.

as of now there is little difference in the look but after a week the thing that has been most evident in my test trials is that the menzerna detail spray has the edge on slickness.

i think that menzerna is very expensive but so is pinnacle where as the four star detail spray is considerably less. yet, IMHO, i am going to have to say that the edge goes to menzerna after the first week of tests. am really interested if the menzerna detail spray will add to the durabilty of FMJ. i have had durability issues with menzerna because of the costs. but if the detail spray will extend the life of FMJ i will embrace the whole line and damn the costs.

I put 2 coats of FMJ on my van Jan 1st, so Im still in the early testing stage of its durability. As far as ease of use, you would be hardpressed to find a product that removes easier than FMJ. I thought the shine/gloss whatever verbage you want to use was excellent. A little goes a long way, Ive used it on 5 vehciles and still have 13 ounces left out of 16. I figure it will take me a couple years to finish up the bottle. I spoke with CMA and was informed FMJ will come in a 32oz refillable bottle sometime in March I believe. Upside will be the price will only go up $10 to $49.95 for 32oz. Of course the 64,000 dollar question is the price of $39.95 for 16 oz's. Is it worth it? Well, If this product shows me it has durability in the coming months I would say yes

Ed, thanks for the news on the 32oz refill bottle of FMJ, some of the best news I have heard in a while, you made my weekend. Now I just have to hope the third of a bottle I have left holds up until the larger size comes in.

I've used IP, FPII, FTG, and FMJ with excellent results.

The FMJ goes on easy & comes off even easier and, so far, I thing it's worth the price. 1st layer was done with a PC & white LC pad, 2nd & 3rd layers were done with a MF applicator. Residue was removed with a couple MF towels & great results obtained from applying either way.

The only other observations I can make are the water beads tend to get loose quickly, still beading but they look weird. Kind of like the difference between a perfect sunny side-up egg (any top quality carnauba) & an a yoke that breaks soon as it hits the pan.

FMJ will tend to smear if a dribble of water runs out of some trim but it's easily corrected with some more FMJ on a clean dry pad/applicator.
FMJ will also stain your pads/applicators so be aware.

Thanks for all the replies. After what you guys have wrote, I think I am going to the garage right now to apply that second coat. Like I said before, I am amazed at how easily it comes off. I thought UPP came off easily but this wipes off like butter. I'll post pics once I get it finished and into the sunlight.
