Menzerna Final Polish Tricks

Wonder why Mercedes-Benz and their top-of-the-line Maybach use exclusively Menzerna???

Ok, i also agree it's hard to learn how to use them, but it is a pro product, not necessarily a common people easy to use product (so the 50/50 solution someone made up) but with aw-some results once you get the hang of it :xyxthumbs

Man, I hate putting on the "moderator hat". Everyone calm down, or we'll have to slap a lock on this thread (something, you might have noticed, that doesn't really happen very often at Autopia).

Back to the orignal topic . . . Menzerna is a bit of a pain to use, I agree. However, I found it to be a lot like Finesse-It II (which, at first, was also rather difficult): you need to be patient. Buff until almost completely gone for the easiest removal, and definitely wipe off residues immediately after buffing. If the residue is stubborn, I've found that a prep-solvent (I use Hi-Temp's Prep-Solve) makes very short work of it. Since you mention you have AIO, that can also be of use in removing residue. If you plan to use AIO after FP anyway, wipe off the FP as best you can, and don't worry about any minor stuff left behind; AIO will take care of that.

Because Menzerna can be difficult to work with, it may not be for everyone (ease-of-use can be a big factor in product choice). That doesn't mean that Menzerna is crap, and it doesn't mean that anyone having problems with it is incompetent. It is what it is: a good polish that can be problematic to use until you find the right technique. If you find Menzerna yields results that make the extra effort worth the trouble, use it. If it's a hassle, there are any number of easier-to-use polishes that will provide similar results. In my personal opinion, I found IP/FP to provide excellent results, but I prefer working with more user-friendly polishes (which is the 1Z lineup of polishes for me these days). Again, that's just my preference.

Actually the 50/50 solution instruction came in the Menzerna instruction sheet of "how to's" that I got with my Menzerna polishes. Werks too

That solution was worked out there, by someone who didn't had the time to properly learn how to use it, so the effort of 50/50 (could as well be 100% alcohol ;) ). Gonzo's post says it all, not need of that.

Son, don't waste your time challenging me. I have been detailing longer than you have been alive. :o

Whatever, hammer boy. If you'd like to believe that, fine.

I'm not trying to start a war here. I just think you were out of line, and when I think someone is out of line, I call him on it. I would never call someone incompetent ('lacking the skills', or whatever you said) on a public forum just because he expressed dissatisfaction with a product -- even if I believed it. Instead, I'd suggest he try a different technique, pad, etc.

I tried Menzerna, and DID follow the instructions. I, like a lot of people, don't think it is as easy to use as other products that give the same results. So why bother?

Ok I guess your right .. the Menzerna people and thier distributors ( CMA ) who supply the product AND the instructions with it don't know how to use it ..
