Menzerna confusion

Hello, people

I have Menzerna Final Polish (dark grey) and Intensive polish (white)and tried them for the first time on my car today. This is the problem I am trying to fix:

My clearcoat has this texture of tiny pits in it. It looks really fine, like the paint was sprayed on with a gun and then dried before totally leveling out. Normally, I can get rid of this pretty good with a couple passes of 3m Machine polish, then SMR, then glaze, then wax. However, this time I wanted to try PUPP, so no glaze or fillers.

I first used the Menzerna IP with a compound pad. It worked ok, I guess, leaving very little compounding haze and only a few tiny scratches. However, I felt it was less aggressive than the Machine Polish. :nixweiss

I did two or three passes, and this texture was mostly gone.

Then I followed up with FP on a blue edge pad (polishing/finishing). The weird thing was that the haze/texture seemed to come back worse than before! There were little scratches too! I am pretty sure there wasn't any dirt on the pad. Actually, the texture this time looked a little different, like the paint had tiny pores.

OK, went over again with the IP/coumpound pad, and these "pores" were mostly gone, reasonably smooth surface. Tried FP again with a white LC polishing pad this time, and the "pores/haze" came back, only slightly less pronounced. I worked the product a pretty long time, to make sure it was breaking down.

After a few more rounds, the haze is lower, but still there. At this point, I probably could have completely eliminated this texture by using 3m SMR or IHG or #7, but again, I didn't want any of this stuff below a polymer layer.

I look at the surface with a LED light, btw. Anyway I am wondering, does paint have little pores that you can actually see if looking closely? Also, I am wondering if I possibly "burnished" these pores away with the IP and the more aggressive pad, but then opened them up again with the FP?

FYI my procedure is as follows:

Mist pad with a little QD

set PC speed at 4-5.

Work the Menzerna until there is only a tiny trace left.

Wipes off easily with only a dry flannel cloth.

I also tried cleaning the surface with Platinum paint cleaner - no difference.

Oh yeah, another thing. I am having the opposite problem with FP - I can't get the thing to dry up! I put it on the PC pad, spread it around (leaves a dark grey goo), then start polishing BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! and after a while, the layer is thin enough that I can't see any color in it anymore (but it is still kind of damp). Even when I polish until there is almost nothing left on the surface, when I turn off the pc and lift it off the paint, it still leaves a bunch of wet FP on the paint. I noticed that FP will not dry out on the pad an cake it up like other polishes I have used.
