Menzerna Blackfire Question

First let me intro myself to the forum as I've been doing TONS of reading on the site..it is tremendous and I've already learned a lot. I recently purchased a new car 300 srt8 and think I put some minor scratches on the hood from PROBABLY not using a proper cloth to dry? Regardless, I ordered my PC and it arrived yesterday. I also ordered the 3.5 and 6 backing plates with the LC CCS pads. The scratches are mainly on the hood and I can BARELY feel them with my nail..they do not catch at all and in many cases I cannot feel them at all with my nail. I originally tried Scratch X without PC and it did not REMOVE the scratches.



So upon doing lot's of reading etc I decided to purchase the Menzerna Blackfire scratch resistant clear finishing polish and scratch resistant clear compound. I hear this product is VERY good.



I plan on doing the normal wash/clay/wash and then attack with PC. I will start with least aggressive and try the polish with the white 4" LC pad. If this does not work I plan on hitting them with the compound and the orange 4" LC pad.



Am I ok utilizing these products to remove the scratches? I really look forward to everyone's response.
 
You have a very good start going. Your process sounds OK, maybe your second step should be the compound with the white pad, then polish with the orange pad, then compound/orange pad.



I like to step up the polish before I step up the pad.

The green and White CCS pads work the best with Menzerna for me...I used a orange pad and it left micro marring...



green for cutting and white for polishing...



I used the green with Intensive polish 3,01 and swirl and scratch removal was a breeze....



Used the white with 106FF or 85RD and finish was a mirror...

Gotcha...I've read that..step up polish before pad. So I'll go polish with white pad and if no results change pad to orange. Still if nothing then go white pad with compound and lastly orange pad with compound. I am hoping with the scratches being so light that the polish and white pad will remove?



I was kind of worried about the Blackfire STUFF because I could not find anyone that has used it on this forum and it concerned me...anyway thanks for the input. I'l try to take some before and after pics.....this forum has a wealth of info and I love it....thanks again
 
Hey goherd90, grats on the car! I have the 300 SRT8's brother, the SuperBee Charger SRT8.



I've been doing lots of work on my car, and I think you've done a great job of picking out your polishes. The clear coats on our cars are hard, hard, hard. Don't get discouraged if you're having a hard time getting any correcting done. Just keep going... eventually you'll get a combination of pad and polish that will get it done, but it will still be very slow going with the PC. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it takes a yellow cutting pad and the Blackfire Scratch Resistant Compound to get anything done on that clear of yours.



Let's see some pictures when you're done!

Hey SuperBee are you on the 300c forums? I kind of figured with the car being NEW that it had the harder clear coat and from what I've read the sratch resistant clear is geared for these types of clear.



The S.R.C. is suppose to arrive today so I may work on the hood this evening in the garage or perhaps this weekend. I am anxious to try and find out what right combo works. I am no photographer but I'll try to take some before and after pics of the scratches.



Luckily since the car is only 1 month old I do not have any swirls etc and will not have to polish the entire car. I just have to work on a handfull of scratches I inadvertantly put on the hood.

There is a number of posts on Blackfire. They might have went under your radar as people tend to abbreviate things.
 
Zoran...sorry but I could not find one doing a search. I DO see it mentioned in a few threads, but not really where the PRODUCT was discussed.

I'm on the lx forums and charger forums... haven't checked out the 300c forums yet.



Blackfire's scratch resistant polishes are re-packaged Menzerna polishes "with additional lubricants" according to Classic Motoring Accessories - Car Buffers, Car Waxes, Car Polishes, Car Covers, Car Accessories. The Scratch Resistant Compound is repackaged Menzerna's Super Intensive Polish 3.01, and the Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Finishing Polish is Menzerna's PO106FF. You'll find TONS of information on these Menzerna polishes. I think that most people around here would agree that the PO106FF is one of the very best finishing polishes you can get. There's other good products, for sure, but that one is top notch for scratch resistant clears.
 
Ok...I went ahead and used the PC this weekend. I am going to create a new thread with pics but I need 10 post before they will allow posts....
