Menz PO203 vs 106FA

Hey guys, looks like Menzerna came out with Powerfinish PO203, and states that its a one stepper type of polish that you can go straight to LSP with. Its time to build up the arsenal again and was pondering whether Id have more use of getting PO203 (powerfinish) over PO106FA. It seems that tons of people on here have had great success with 106FF (which is pretty much the same as 106FA). Does anybody know if powerfinish can finish down hologram and marring free on a LC white pad? If 106FA and PO203 were used on a finishing pad would they have the same look?

I have Powerfinish and you can finish down to LSP ready with a white pad. I got better results with PFW but I still pulled out 106FF on a blue pad to really add even more gloss.

I like it because it has more cut than 106 and finishes down nicely.

Would you say it finishes down just as good or better then 106FA/FF?

I'm gonna order today just not sure what. I've used 106FF for the past two years with great results, but if I can get better cutting and just as good finishing then its a no brainer to get Power Finish.

Form what I've read, I don't think it finishes down as nice as 106FF/FA, but close. It it did, I was going to get Power Finish as well.

Looks like I might just pick up the SIP + 106FA Combo.

I've got it and used it and haven't touched my SIP since.

It finishes down nicely but I still grab a blue pad and Ultrafina to really finish.

It's a great product to work with using PFW!

In your opinion, how is the cut of Power Finish compared to SIP? I read that Power Finish doesn't come close to SIP.

Do you mainly choose it over SIP because it's a good one-step?

I've been using more one step products, like M105, M151, and PO203 to help cut down time.

I use PO203 with a rotary and PFW and the cut is close to SIP, very close and it finishes down really nicely. I still will do a final polish just to make sure no holograms are left and add more gloss. I honestly haven't touched my SIP since I have M105 and PO203.

When I was speaking with Menzerna, they told med Powerfinish would cut faster and finishes out nicer then PO85RD3.02/"SIP". According to the official information sheet from tells me that Menzerna PO203S(powerfinish) have a cut of 3,5 and a gloss of 3,5. "SIP" have a cut of 3,5 but a gloss of 3.

I have not used PO203S myself, but I will get a load of new Menzerna polishes in january.

So in summary thus far:

The 203 has a bit more cut and finishes just fine for most one step folks.

However for the best gloss, follow with 106FF/FA on blue to get the highest gloss.

LMK if this is right.

I've got each, but haven't tried them via rotary yet.

I'll throw my dos pesos in here.

For the best gloss/look, I would even follow up 106FF/FA with either 85RD (for harder clears) or UF (For softer clears). On some paints (Most recently a red 360 Modena) I've two-stepped it with SIP and 85RD. Just depends on the paint you're working with.

From what Ive read SIP is definitely a more aggressive higher cut polish versus PO203 power finish.

SIP has a cut of 3.5 and a gloss rating of 3

PO203 has a cut of 3 and a gloss rating of 5

I wonder why Menzerna rated PO203S with a cut of 3,5 and gloss 3,5? :cooleek:
