menz....how much product to use.

Guys, I have worn out the search option looking for the thread answering my question. So here it is. I am about to start playing with SIP and 106ff with a PC on a 04 black LS430. My question is, how much product to use for both SIP and 106FF. I seem to recall someone saying use the SIP sparingly and use the 106 liberally.

Also do the amounts change when using a rotary? I just got my Hitachi in and will probably give it a go once I find a beater around.

Thanks in advance.

It's been my experience that the Menz products w/ the highest cut are also the thickest and thus require a more liberal application. This may generate more dust but I would worry more about the results than the mess.

The 106ff is more forgiving so use how much you personally desire. However, the SIP should be used very differently. Put only two small dabs each the size of a pea on opposite sides of the pad. Then work it in slowly and increase speed as needed to break to polish down till clear. You should be using so little SIP that after polishing for 30-40 minutes, your pad should still be 65% dry. I know this flies in the face of logic but trust me it works like no other polish I have ever used. Do not saturate your pad with SIP and make absolutely sure that you thoroughly wash it after each use and don't use that pad again till it has dried.

I put a very thin x on my pad when using SIP at first, after doing a panel or 2, I just put 2 dots on the pad.
