Menerna Polishes

Unfortunately I can't search, so sorry I am asking things that are up already. I just ordered the two Menzerna Polishes and I am mostly interested in knowing how the Final Polish stacks up against other products, I know it has no fillers or wax. Does it compare to GEPC or #7. What pads have you guys used on the Final Polish.

thomasfl,

I too have ordered the Menzerna twins. I am pretty much going by what CMA states in the Menzerna Bio on their web site.

Menzerna Intensive Polish

Menzerna Final Polish

I like to keep on top of what is new out there and CMW swears by the new Menzerna polishes.

I have use SEPC/GEPC with great success and I hear the ClearKote's Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze is also a great final polish.

I will post my findings about the Menzerna twins in about two weeks after I get the products and have a chance to evaluate them.

Cheers,

My Black 7 Series

I just got my order. I am going to try them tomorrow on my IS300, actually only the final polish, then I am going to add AIO, then UPP. Should look sweet I will post the results and have pics next week when I process them.

Can't search it right now, but I think there is a recent thread in which someone was less than thrilled with the results when he applied Menzerna final polish with the WHITE PC pad (as per CMA recommendation). I think David B replied that he had gotten good results using the GRAY PC finishing pad using a liberal amount of the polish. Be advised!

Let us know how it goes.

David B. did recommend using the gray finishing pad to apply the Final Polish. Of course "liberal amount" is somewhat subjective. The first time I used this polish I put way too much product on the pad and I thought it never would buff out. After that I put about a two-inch line of the product at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions on the finishing pad and applied it that way. I thought it worked beautifully. I followed it with a glaze and topped it with a carnuba. Good stuff.... :xyxthumbs

I'm also using a finishing pad w/ final polish, using a rotary at 1200RPM and it buffs of in less than a minute. It makes a brilliant finish. :xyxthumbs

if i'm not mistaken when David said he was using the grey finishing pad, he was. But, only he was doing it with a rotary and high RPMs.

Yes, David was using a rotary, but not sure about the speed. Here's the thread: Menzerna

This weekend I tried both of the Menzerna polishes by hand. It seems these will work much better with a PC, I will get back with that info soon. I didn't need the intensive but I tried it on one panel. Very easy to use with more gloss than most cleansers, well it does say it is a polish. The final polish, was very difficult to remove, so if that is a problem for you don't use this. For me it was well worth the work, very nice gloss, not really deep but bright and clear. This product doesn't really compare to something like #7 or GEPC as it has a different effect. It is almost like a very thin layer of glass on your car. I followed this up with AIO and then UPP, the car is stunning. Although I need some more experience with the Menzerna products to fully evaluate them and their best applications, I think they can be a great addition to your detailing arsenal especially if you are using polymers and a PC.

I don't use high RPM on my rotary. I never go above 1800 RPM... no need to. I recommend the fine foam pad on both the DA polisher and a rotary. Seems to work fine with my drill kit, too. By hand I recommend the Viking Sure Grip applicator. It takes some heavy rubbing to get Menzerna to do its job by hand.

I have tried menzerna final polish with great results. I worked it in real good with a rotary at about 1200 rpms, using a 3m waffle polishing pad. It left the surface very nice and glossy. On one vehicle, the residue removed with ease, but on another, it was a bit tough to buff off.

:D I think the final polish is excellent:up I used a grey finishing pad & removal was simple with a MF. I also used a terry towell for removal.........like wiping off dust.

PEACE

Today I worked with the Menzerna twins again. I was able to eliminate small scratches and do a pretty good cleaning with the Intensive, although it was a little tough to remove, I was using a QD and it wasn't terrible but not as easy as other products, had a yellow pad a little past 4 on the PC. The final polish with the gray pad on the same setting. Great smooth finish. I applied UPP over this, I was thinking of using the UPC or AIO but figured why cover this menzerna glass-like finish. It worked out exceptional.
