Members Near Wichita, KS?

Me too Angelo! I figure everyone is watching college football right now. There is a possibility I will be going there for a few months to work and want to know a good place to stay. Not looking to be in a bad area just to save some money.

If you're going there for work, why aren't they paying a stipend for your housing/expenses to help you out?

While you're there take a field trip to see the curve. I think it's up towards Topeka near the tree. I hear they used to have a hill too but it washed away after a light rain. ;)

Can't speak specifically about the Wichita area but a seasoned old-timer who travels a lot advised me to look at a map and figure out what used to be the main highway before the Interstates went in, usually a US route. There's usually still an old "motel row", frequently with some family owned places. He always looks for what he calls NAS motels.... ie, "notch above scuzzy". :D

I used his strategy on a few road trips and found some of the nicest, cleanest places dirt cheap. YMMV.

They briefly mentioned relocation assistance but I plan to get more details on that. I want to research the area a little so I'll be prepared for the salary/expenses negotiation. This is not a permanent relocation but I want to stay in a nice area while I'm there.

TL, have you been to the Cessna airport by chance?

Dropped in there once to pick up a passenger about 30 years ago. About the only thing I recall about it is I was there. Kinda felt like a 2nd class citizen in a Piper Aerostar.
