For those who have melted paste wax, does melting the paste affect looks or durability of the wax?

I use a dollor store metal mixing bowl that rest in a pan with about An inch of water simmering in it
I forget who's idea it was (maybe Scottwax?)
but a 50/50 mix of #16 & FK's Pinkwax
makes a very nice wax
