Meguires 105

I thought I would give M105 a try this week with DA Ultima Detail Machine (UDM) and found it too dry and difficult to remove. I thought I overworked it, but I only made 3-4 passes in an area. I didn't prime or wet foam pad, perhaps that caused the problem.



Any suggestions?

I have found the same problem with M105, but I am wondering if it is because of the cold weather? I have found that you need to work it a LOT longer than you think. I thought I was crazy too until I decided to work it longer and see what would happen. It is very thick and for some reason I don't think our DA polishers are getting it hot enough in cold weather (cold hood etc). M205 works really good. It goes on smooth, you don't have to work it as much and it comes off easy. Try working it more and see if that helps. I can't wait to see what happens this summer.....

I found that a quick spritz of water can make it work longer and easier to remove.

i always spray the pad with quick detail then apply the m105 and once i feel that the compound is breaking down i spray the pad again.....wokrs great and no gumming

I always found that 105 and 205 work really well for me sometimes if I forget to prime, if I just get the pad Im using damp with spraying water on it, then just doing a normal X pattern to prime a couple times. To me it has not required any more than the regular KBM method of priming

#105 works a lot better with a firm pad than it does with a soft one.
