Meguiar's Wheel Brightener

Today I tried Wheel Brightener for the first time on my wife's BMW wheels. Holy Smoke! That is some powerful stuff! For anybody who struggles to clean powder coated wheels, I would recommend it. Just make sure you dilute it properly, otherwise you might burn a hole in your asphalt driveway!

when I tried it, I cut it 3:1 and spray on aggitate a little and hose off, and clean wheels. I didn't notice any runs or stains on my Ford Focus and I have the alloy painted rims (silver) and it hasn't harmed it in any way at all. Everytime I used the stuff it has never let me down or caused damage......

I love this stuff! Autogeek sells great spray bottles that have mixing lines for proper dillution, but the spray heads dont hold up well...

Yes, the acid will eat the sprayer internals quickly. You can extent the life of the sprayer by unscrewing the top and spraying out what is in the delivery tube. Or, if you are so inclined, spray some H20 through to rinse.

i used to use it on conventional washing...but ever since ONR, I havent used it since. I dont think that an ONR splashing will be enough to remove the WB remnants, so I dont want to risk it sitting and eating away at some wheels...

with that said, I LOVED THE STUFF

Great stuff! I have a gallon of it and use the US Plastics chemically resistant sprayers. Works every time!

Good product, no doubt. Just make yourselves aware of the health warnings on the label - - this isn't your typical wheel cleaner ;)

Is WB really an acidic cleaner? The way it worked I would have guessed it was a strong base, with a pH > 11.

I bought the chemical resistant sprayer from Auto Detailing Solutions. Will WB eat the internals on it?

Its PH is around 4 or 4.5 IIRC. And yes in time it will eat up the sprayer. The chemical resistant sprayer just lasts longer.

Got it in my eye one time....owie.

Same with me, I thought I was going to go blind. Rinsed it out for like 5 minutes.

And yeah, you do need to take the sprayer off after each use and just spray clean water through it to clear it of WB. Even chemical resistant sprayers will fail if you don't do this.

You're using a DEADLY chemical and don't even know what's in it?

I started using the chemical resistant sprayer but it broke. I only had regular sprayers kicking around so I threw one of those on my bottle of WB. It's been about 2 years and it's still holding up fine.

WB works great if you use the proper dilution ratio (it's strong stuff). i accidently spilled some of this on our house tile floor and it permanently etched/stained it... :(
