Meguiars, what do you recommend?

I have two vehicles that I will want to detail this summer.

-2002 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab

-1996 Mustang Cobra (New Paint)

Both cars are white clearcoat.

I will be claying the vehicles first using Meguiars Clay and Final inspection after a Meguiars car wash.

I know I want to finish off with NXT but I am lost as to what polish I should use. I am stuck between

-New car glaze

-Machine Glaze

-Show car glaze

They all sound so simular. Can you explain the differences? My paint has no swirls as it is nearly new.

I also had a hard time deciding if I need to finish the polish of with #20, NXT or #26. Is NXT the right choice?

Any help is appreciated, Im lost in all these meguiars #'s (As are many others) I cant believe that the brass at Meguiars doesnt see that over the years there numbering system, vague and misleading descriptions, and overly huge selection is only hurting them? I think the entire line needs to be simplified!

White, a very hard pigment of color to make it glow and shine!

If it were me this is what I would do.

Wash and clay like you said

-wash again to remove residue from the clay (2 bucket method)

-polish to remove any defects in the paint (#9, #82, #83,)

The products you mentioned are all glazes. #3 is Machine Glaze #5 is New Car Glaze, can be used for high humidity, and #7 Show Car Glaze, this is the more popular glaze of all those 3. But it seems though lately, #81 Hand Polish has taken over for clearcoats.

Ok if I was in the situation you were in. I'd do it up like this

Wash

Clay

Wash

Polish with #82 or #9

#81 or #7

NXT, MPPP, #20 or #26 or you could do combos with these

Whatever you want to do is at your discrection, I'm only giving advice. Take care,,,,,,91

Should I polish with #82 or #9 if I have no swirls? They have an abrasion rating of three. Shouldnt I use an abrasion of 1? I dont want to cut away any paint if not needed, Then again, I have no clue how abrasive a 3 is anyway!

Also, what is the difference between a glaze and polish? Can I allpy NXT over a Glaze?

On last question! Would I be better topping #9 with #26 or NXT/#20?
