Meguiars Ultimate Protectant

Ok I have to plug a very nice product for dash and trim. Anyone looking to revive the exterior trim or interior trim and dash, you need to check out Meguiars new product 'Ultimate Protectant".

This will revive and restore your fading exterior or interior trim to original factory new look or even better. Goes on easy and dries quickly without leaving a greasy finish. Repels water and lasts an extremely long time. I have seen excellent results, even through several car washes and or a few rain days and still hold up nicely. This is the best dash and trim product that I have used bar none.
 
Tried this out on some exterior vinyl trim and it looks good and lasts for weeks. My new fav exterior trim treatment.
 
I think it was $9 or $10 at Walmart. It is a cream and applies with a foam or mf applicator. I wiped dry with a mf and it left zero streaks and a nice dark luster. It doesn't run when it gets wet and lasts a really, really long time. It seems to spread quite nicely so a little goes a long way. I cleaned my vinyl prior to application with #39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner. Not sure this was needed but to get a fair read on the product I wanted to start fresh.
 
Well...I couldn't find it at Wal-Mart, so I got it at Pep Boys for the $9 or $10 mentioned. I haven't carefully cleaned the surfaces I've applied it to, although that doesn't seem to have adversely affected my results. I would call it pretty glossy, not really glossy. It really gives a more "like new" finish. Mostly used it on windshield cowlings, and some hard rubber window surrounds and that kind of thing. Certainly seems to last longer than Black Wow did, been really hot and not too rainy here; I'd second the "last for weeks" comment...at least with the weather we've been having I'd say 3-4 weeks, although I think the bottle says subsequent applications will last longer.

It still makes somewhat of a mess if you get it on adjacent surfaces. I posted in another thread about a back-to-back comparison I did of BW vs. UP, I even went over the previously BW'd surface with the UP without any prep and it still lasted longer (I believe I did an APC prep on the cowling before I used the BW--you'd have to see what I said in that other thread).

I picked mine up at O'Reilly auto for $8.95. You might also find it at Wally world. The bottle will last a looong time as a little goes a very long way.



As Jim eluded to, UP may have some minor cleaning ability but it's major function is protection, so using it on a clean surface yields the best results. I've applied it to the dash and it's still there over a month later.
 
it's has a nice gloss, but not overly so as to look phony. You can also wipe off any excess if you get it on too heavy and that seems to leave a little more of a satin type finish. Very durable though and UV protection has to be extremely good.

What ever you do, DO NOT put it on anything you will be standing on or the steering wheel. it leaves a very slick surface......
 
Just hold your pad or micro towel up to the bottle when using it, it comes out fast, easy to use too much.



So far looks good after 2 weeks and several washings on the outside trim on my truck.

It's a third party seller. They are aware of Amazon's listing error and will cancel the order. You will not get 6 bottles.

Maybe, but the last time I ordered an unbelievable deal at Amazon I got it. I ordered some Pennzoil Platinum 100% synthetic oil. It was listed at $6.95 for a pack of 6 quarts. This oil typically sells for $6.95 a quart. I ordered all they had in stock, 4 cases. I got all four cases for a total of $27.80 with free shipping too. You just don't know until the product arrives or the order cancelled.
