Meguiars Quick Detail question

I have used and loved Final Inspection for years now. While browsing another thread I see that there is a new product out from Meguiar's. Something called last touch I believe it is. Could someone enlighten me as to the difference in the two?

I heard that Final Inspection just had a name change to Last Touch...At least that is what I have heard.

What I have heard is that Megs Final Detail was changed to Last Touch. Final inspection is a different product.

Currently, Meguiar's offers 4 quick detailers in their product line.

Meguiar's Quik Detailer

Final Inspection

Last Touch Spray Detailer

Last Touch is a new and improved version of Final Detail in Meguiar's New Detailer Line

Meguiar's Last Touch Spray Detailer produces incredible depth, shine and gloss. This spray-on, wipe-off product has a unique blend of polymeric lubricating agents that gently removes dust, fingerprints, smudges and other contaminates, leaving a flawless, showroom shine.

D-15501 1 gallon

D-15505 5 gallon

Ready to Use

Can be used as a lubricant for Meguiar's clay, dilute 1:1 for this application.

Recommended replacement for Final Detail

Final Inspection is paint-shop safe. If that doesn't matter to you (and there's probably not much reason it should) then Last Touch is ever so much nicer! It adds lots of gloss and shine to the paint and good slickness. :)

I would like to try some of this stuff. Is it available at local parts stores yet cause I did not see any at mine.

Never mind I see PBE's carry them. I guess they only come in the gallons as well it appears.

Is this change being made primarily to comply with the new CA VOC rules?

One of you techs told me the only QD not having silicon was FI. Is a silicon containing product (D155) detrimental to reapplying an acrylic over an acrylic?

Mike I was fortunate enough to have someone send me a 6 oz sample of Final Detail which I liked better than anything I have in my arsenal... but .. well couldn't even find it up here in CanaDUH. Then it was discontinued.

Will Last Touch be avaialble in Canada? The local megs Pro line dealer here is Lordco but they have never heard of it. And living out here in the sticks shipping in a gallon by UPS kills us.

I have looked in a few places in Wash State but mid Washington isn't high on detailing so they don't carry a lot of job specific stuff. I guess they don't need to wax the gun racks in the back window of their p/u trucks. ( No offence some of my best friends live there )

would like to know about this as well, will FD be recommended if I intend to reapply sealant (eg Poorboy's EXP) every couple of weeks?

Thanks
