Hey guys I just got hooked up with the Meguiars rep and I'm thinking of going 100% meguiars for my business... I have used them before but not alot of the professional line... My question is: What should I load up with? I am goin to spend about $500 with them on the first purchase.. If you guys were going to spend that, what would be your choice of products from them? (polishes, wax, soap, degreasers, dressings,??????)

Oh boy... few things off the top of the head



Their APC, Hyper Dressing if you can get it, #7 Show Car Glaze, #26 Hi Tech Yellow, if you are wetsanding for scratches I have found their Unigrit to be pretty good, polishes and that I am not sure? Are you going with rotary or PC?



I got a Megs "Surface Care Product Guide" in my hands right now from the local paint and body shop, and I never knew the Mirror Glaze line had this many products.
 
I love their All season dressing for exterior plastics. Holds up good in the rain but runs alittle.



Hyper Dressing is great for under the hood and plastic on the exterior but it doesnt hold up to rain as good.



#80 is great since it removes mild swirls and polishes in one step.



#83, but it doesnt polish.



#26 is a great wax.



#7 is a good polish.



Alot of people seem to like the glass cleaner



APC
 
#85 #84, #83, #80, #9, #26, #21, #38 if he has any, #40, #3 , trim dressing, hyper dressing, APC or APC +



Woah there, I almost forgot #66!

M34 is good to remove any polish or wax residue on the exterior surfaces. It's also good for fingerprints or smudges. I like it because it leaves a very clean surface and doesn't leave anything of it's own behind.



#39 and #40 I use on the interior vinyl and rubber. For interiors that are moderately clean I go straight to #40, it leaves a like new, matt finish with a little more sheen then something like PB's NL. It has a strong chemical smell that resembles new car smell, but it is strong and some people don't like it. I use #39 before #40 if it's too dirty.
 
Used Meguiar's professionally for a long time and continue to use at home



If I had $500 to spend and was choosing only Meguiar's products, I'd go with:



M26

Great carnauba based wax: easy to use, looks great, good price, reasonably durable for a carnauba.



M66

Strong for a one step cleaner-polish-wax. Has its place for volume work as well as doing jambs and other areas by hand. I just used it today with my Gem orbital to do some surface cleaning and adding protection. It cleaned up a 14 year old paint finish that sits under a tree and hasn't been waxed in nearly 2 years.

Some people also use it as a finishing polish when they can't get anything else to finish without micromarring. Easily topped with M26 or other waxes for more durability



D14 Wheel Brightener is a great one, as Timmah says.



M40 is a super interior protectant.



M80 is one that you can use for final polish on a Cyclo/PC on most finishes. It's also a great one to use with a rotary for more correction.



M83 is one that confuses and frustrates some, but it's a nice product with reasonable cut and it finishes very nicely. On light cars that aren't paying for top notch work, you can run it with a W8000 pad and go directly to wax or sealant.



W8000 or W8006 (8" & 6.5") foam pads

Versatile: they'll work with a variety of Meguiar's and non-Meguiar's products

Durable: I have some that are years old and holding up well

The ones that I had at my shop would polish at least one car a day and would last for months.



Haven't used any of their newest APC's, but I hear good things about them.



Their compounds (M84 and M85) do work well enough, but for serious work such as recovering from wetsanding, I use 3M Perfect-It III.

Yeah I have used alot of meguiars stuff... I just wanted a better deal so the rep offered to give me a better price if I only used them...
 
I only use Meguiars. Customer satisfaction and support won me over. Ive never found a company that strives to make their customers happy like megs does.



I forgot the #40. Smell isnt the best but I love how easy it goes on and the look it gives.

Since I started working on my paint with my UDM, that's the only stuff I've been using. I use #83 followed up by #80 (or recently #9) and then top it off with #21.



One of the reasons I went with Meguiar's is because the detail shop that I use in the wintertime to do my washing and waxing uses their stuff. So I've also had them use #20 and #26 on my car. I've also used NXT in the past before I switched to #21. Meguiar's has an awesome online forum that is extremely helpful, that is another huge reason why I use their stuff.
