The time has come for me to try a new line of products. In the past I've been a zymol guy (i know, i know :nono). I've read good things about Meg's and want to try some stuff out. My question is this...for someone building a small "arsenal" so to speak, which #'s megs should i purchase, and how should they be used (i.e. in what order?). The number system they have is quite overwhelming, thank god for the acronym list here on the site...

Please give me your opinions, what do i start with... and where is the best place to purchase these things, online or otherwise...?

thanks

I've been using Meguiar's products ever since I got my car last year... Some things you will want (sorry, no product #s)

Preparation:

ScratchX - For scratches, of course

Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner - A good cleaning of the car should leave it smooth as glass and ready for polishing.

Polishing/Waxing:

Show Car Glaze - Nuff said...

Hi-Tech Yellow Wax - Protect that finish...

Other Stuff:

Quik Wax (Spray-on) -- works great to rejuvenate your car's shine if you haven't done a complete job in a month or so..

Gold Class Trim Detailer - Keeps your black trim looking.. black

Gold Class Endurance High Gloss - This lasts longer than spray, BUT I prefer spray because its much easier to apply and looks just as good.

Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant - Great for interior vinyl

These are all products that I've used, so I'm not just throwing out stuff.. go to meguiars.com and look around, you will find that the prices on their website are reasonable, but you may find better at your local pepboys, etc. Attached are some pictures of my Meguiar'ed car :)

One of the best Meguiars combinations avaliable IMO. For added durability you can substitute Mediallion Paint Protectant for the #26. Use their 2.0 SMR as necessary for swirls in place of the #7. I also like their carwash shampoo and conditioner from the professional line, and #40 Vinyl and Rubber protectant for tires, interior, hoses, ect.

If you are going to use Meguiar's, go with the professional line...they come in the beige bottles. They cost more, but remember you get what you pay for!
