Meguiars pads?

I doubt if you'll get any serious correcting capability using a 7" pad with a PC. Just my dos pesos.

I use them with a G110 and they work great.

They just put out new machine washable 7" pads which are fully compatible with a PC.

wow, not to be a hater, but those pads look horrible on a DA. they look over sized and i'm sure will bog the DA down too much. those pads look like standard pads for a rotary??

like i said not to hate or flame, but why advertise something like that as new?

I think as more people use them we'll know more.

well he said he corrected the over spray with a rotary. i can use my rotary to about 98% and finish with a DA or by hand at that point. i would like to hear from some one who only has a DA and does a complete car using only a DA and those pads.

Years ago when I used the PC to correct, a lot of times Id use 4" pads. 6.5"+ pads are just WAY to big to be used with the PC. I never recommend anything over 5.5" for the PC.

i have switched from a 6.5" to a 5.5" on a DA - better results in the same amount of time (takes just as long because you cover less area)

Another - smaller is better on PC - person. A 5.5" is max for a PC, a 4 is best for correction. I do think the new 7" pads will be great on my makita!

I have 5.5" LC CCS pads now, I read on the Meg site and alot of ppl use it with the Meg version of the PC. I was askin bc I can get the pads local. Guess I will buy some 4" pads for better correction

Are there known good alternatives to Meguiars cutting pads? Just trying to lay my hands on something today...

For a PC or rotary? If PC, I would suggest Lake Country orange or maybe even yellow 6.5 or smaller pads. If rotary, once I started using the LC purple foamed wool pads for correction my yellow LC pads, Meg's 7006 and most of the time even my LC orange pads have been just collecting dust.

my turn to chime in, I really like the 4 inch edge 2000 pads for correction, seem to work better for me. Changing pads is so much easier with the edge system.

I am not sure about the new softbuff pads but the old ones sucked. The velcro would constantly come apart from the backing and the pad would shred from the backing plate all the time. We switched to LC pads and they hold us much better.

I think you guys are also forgetting the fact that these pads where developed with the G110 in mind, not the PC. The G110 has a lot more power.

Watch out for the types of backing plates you use on those pads though. My BP was starting to cut into the tan pad about 1/4" from the edge of the pad. I was using the BP from TOL which isn't really curved; just be careful sometimes. It's been working fine with the burgundy and yellow polishing pad.

FYI: Note that Meguiars just released a new line of machine washable pads "Soft Buff 2.0" including a new cutting pad that is designed for use with RA machines.

Good information here:

Anyone know if the 2.0 Buff Pads are the same as the Solo's? Except for a few minor differences like machine washable (labed) or different velcro backing?
