Meguiar's Medallion 11 week report

Here are a couple of shots of what the Medallion paint job looks like after 11 weeks. I had never used a quick detailer on the paint since it had been waxed. This was the first time applying Meguair's Quick Detailer (in the purple bottle and available at Target) to the paint. The paint appeared to have good depth of shine and felt protected. The quick detailer spray brought some

slickness back to the paint. It feels about half as slick as my BMW

sitting next to it which has a one week old coat of Zaino and a quick detail using the Z6 yesterday.

I used Medallion on my truck yesterday and it came out absolutely stunning (don't know how to post pictures).

Medallion was the easiest stuff to work with I've ever used and left NO residue and was a snap to remove. I have some Blitz and Souveran to try out on my garage baby car, but I was VERY impressed with Medallion and will continue to use it on the truck.

Side note:

I also had good results with Meguiars Scratch X on a few spot areas to hide some micro swirl marks. It really did work.

Pure makeup, perhaps, but, it did it's job.

If you use Meguiars products and like them, give the Medallion a try. I like it better than #26. It seems to resist dust fairly well and when I used Meguiars products it makes me feel a bit better about myself. I can get them locally and I help keep this small town supply store in business.

I don't remember how many coats. with the roof rack, the subaru is a bit of a pain to work on (the plastic mouldings from the belt line down do help reduce the overall work, though). It's either one coat or two coats but probably one. I did clay it first as well as polish with show car glaze. I spot cleaned with medallion paint cleaner as needed.

anyway, this car gets neglected compared to the bimmer. the wax gets more wear and tear because I only wash this car every 3-4 weeks and sometimes les frequently. like I said in the original post, this was the first time using any kind of a quick detailer on the paint outside of the claying process. previously I had been using meguiar's #62 (available by the gallon) but I ran out and sterted using gold class as of yesterday. I prefer the smell of #62 and feel that it rejuvinates the wax more so than gold class.

anyway... medallion is a great product and lasts long. I will probably switch to zaino anyway to make the task of waxing the cars less laborious and because I like the way zaino feels to the touch. I also like that zaino does not stain plastic and rubber (a problem around the roof rack seals on the subaru).

yeah, I had been purchasing my meguair's supplies locally as well (for les than the so called "discount" prices on-line).

according to meguiar's support, it is a carnauba/polymer blend. that explains the good looks and long lasting shine. in fact, before the rep knew I had two white cars, he recommended using #20 (their regular polymer) over medallion for white cars.

medallion DOES stan black trim. meguiar's admits to this and I've experienced it on both cars, my bimmer and my subaru.

I had a 96 mazda B4000. nice truck. mine was the last year that still had ford's twin I-beam suspension.
