Meguiars M21 2.0

I'm about to buy 64oz's of M21 2.0, any reason I should look at something else? I really like the hyrdophoic properties of M21 2.0.

I like it, it's easy on with my PC and a LC red pad, and comes off easy too. I'd say the looks are very good - at least in the better than average group. It lasts around 4-5 months with normal washing and occasional hits of AW.

I really like that product. It lasts for months, and it's so reflective, especially on white, that it's hard to look at the car in the sun. Everyone who sees a car I did with 21 2.0 as an LSP comments on the glossness.

I haven't used it before.

If you haven't tried it before, why not purchase a 16oz bottle instead of a 64oz? That way you aren't out too much money if you dont like it. I bought a 16oz and have used it a couple times now and so far, I like the look. I just tried it this past weekend though so I don't know about durability yet. Time will tell.

Megs #21 is on of the most highly underated products out there, so it is great to have in your arsenal.

If I was you though, I would purchase the 16oz first to try as other posters have suggested. 16 Ozs. will last you awhile if you are olnly going to put #21 on one to 2 cars.

The durability that I get with #21 is fantastic. I have consistantly gone over 6 months with decent protection and a small loss in slickness.

#21 goes a LOOOOOOOOOONG way. I'm guessing a 16oz bottle will do 30 or so properly prepped cars.

Are you sure you don't top 21 with OCW?..LOL

Is the NXT Tech Wax 2.0 the same thing?

No they are 2 different types of products.

They will perform the same, and are virtually identical. The difference is that M21 2.0 (and its predecessor, M21) are intended for pro detailers and thus can be applied via rotary as well. NXT and NXT 2.0 can not be applied via rotary.

not only that, if memory serves me correctly, nxt 2.0 has cleaning capabilities (stripping anything thats under it) while m21 and its successor do not.

Go with the 16oz bottle of M21v2.0. This quantity will last you a long time. I think you'll be pleasantly suprised by the outstanding results you'll get after using M21v2.0 on a properly prepped paint surface.

Let us know what you decide, and how it goes.

I will throw in my two cents on this one...i got M21 2.0 shortly after it came out..and i hated it..i actually sent it back to meguiars because my truck was covered in splotches and looked horrible...apparently the only reason they took it back is because they had an influx of complaints of my very same problem....the problem could have been fixed by now but i know i wouldnt buy it again. And NXT 2.0 has the cleaners removed i believe...the cleaners were in V1...i believe

EDIT: i know this is going to get asked so yes the paint was properly prepped...i polished 1 month before and clayed the car again...right before i put 21 on

No, they took it back because they have a 100% money back guarantee. Also, neither NXT or 21 (either version) are "cleaner waxes". They have a minimal amount of cleaning ability in them to help with adhesion to all surfaces, even poorly prepped ones. I can't speak for using them over other companies glazes but I have used both over a Meg's pure polish (#7) and neither removed it. So the cleaning abilities are minimal.

What made you think that the *only* reason they took it back is because they had an influx of complaints? Did customer service tell you that?

The "splotchy-ness" problem is almost always due to using too thick of a coat, followed by improper removal. If you are a pro and waxing with a machine then it shouldn't be an issue, but when working by hand it is very easy to use too much product.

Most people think "if some is good, lots must be better!" but that just isn't true. (At least not in this case).

I too had issues when I first used it, but I have since perfected my technique and now I am able to wax and entire vehicle with M21 2.0 with less than an ounce, easily. Also, with Meguiar's waxes "the swipe test" is your friend. Learn, use it, live by it- LOVE it. It works.
