meguiars hot rims chrome cleaner all over glass

Yes, the Meg's Hot Rims Chrome Wheel Cleaner contains 5-15% phosphoric acid, as well as <0.65% ammonium bifluoride (the precursor to hydrofluoric acid, an acid which etches glass quite well). I'm glad this thread came up, I was unaware Meg's was selling an OTC wheel cleaner that contained ABF/HF.

PS I can't find anything about phosphoric acid etching glass.

my bad, another dain bramaged , senior moment. I meant hydrofluoric acid. thanks for the correction.:bubba
at any rate, the etched glass will be difficult to polish clear again. cerium oxide will be your best bet (contained in ceriglass) on a glass polishing pad and heavy machine polishing.

I was looking at some of the kits they have and was wondering if I get just the DA by itself then what type of pads do I want to get to start out with...I was thinking the porter cable 7424xp with 6 inch pad....
Is this a good choice?

Between the Porter Cable and the Griots I'd get the Griots. More power and a lifetime warranty versus the PC.

@tropicsteve...I didn't mean to hit dislike on your comment...using a junk phone right now and accidentally hit it...so I just hit other ones also..lol
