Meguiar's Final Detail - Any Remaining Stock?

I think the reason it was discontinued was the VOC regs they put on many products. Meguiars probably could have just reformulated and kept the name Final Detail but for some reason chose to go with a new name. I've heard some good reviews about Final Touch, but once I started using Quickshine, I didn't feel the need to look any further. Good luck with your search, but don't hesitate to give some of these others a try.

:waxing:

I don't think that this one was a casualty of VOCs (other D-Line products were though I believe). It was simply a function of bringing the "D-Line" in house. Heck, even the MSDS lists it as 95% water I believe. ;)

As for Last Touch (D-151), I'm not much on it. It's very smeary for me over a synthetic or a carnauba-based product (specifically #16 - which was snubbed due to VOCs). Some may like it -- I'm on the other edge of that spectrum.

While I know FK and PB's S&W are kind of different sprays, I have started to develop a liking for FK1's 425. I just want something that has a nice 'cleaning' ability (similar to the PB's) but also pops like 425. For me, that product was Final Detail.

Today, I've searched another 2 or 3 hours (I'm efficient at work! LOL!) but have still come up craps. I give up... maybe.

You've talked me into trying out QuickShine though...

Yeah, I wasn't sure why it was dropped and most detailers are almost all water. I was shocked when I ordered my first gallon of Quickshine as they send it in the gallon container and it's only about an 8th full. I thought maybe it had leaked out as my first quart of Quikshine came with the top loose and I lost about 5 ounces as it's shipped premixed. I thought it happened again until I read the instructions to fill it with water to a line marked on the bottle. They ship the gallon as a concentrate. To bad about Final Touch as I had thought about giving it a try sometime in the future, but will probably stay away from it now. I have some FK 425 on its way as I have read some good reviews on it and will be interested to see how it compares to Quickshine.
