Meguiars detail day Nationwide possibility!

I think we need to avoid trying to do something like this at SEMA, to busy, too costly.

I would think in the early spring, before the detailing season starts in a least costly place would be a good starting point.

What's the agenda for a National Autopia GTG? Is it social, educational, political or all of the above?

All of the above and especially anyplace with a boxing ring... :argue

:D Just kidding...

My thinking was to hold it someplace people could get to easily and affordably. Since there are so many charter flights to places like Vegas and Orlando, and there's plenty of hotels, restaurants, attractions, etc., it seemed to me those would be good places to gtg.

But I'm certainly interested in hearing about location ideas that have a broad appeal, are easy to get to, and are not too expensive to travel to.

"Early spring" means (to me) West Coast Only location. The weather in the rest of the nation is still pretty voliltile that time of year.

I think regional would be more interesting, better chance of bringing our cars to them. I sure hope several mfrs would participate.

You make a lot of good points Bret, this is about the time a meeting should be called.

I've only been to SEMA once, and it was so big, so busy... However, because it's over on Friday, that would mean everyone would be freed up for some kind of event on a Saturday.

The next thing would be where to hold it and how much would it cost?

I agree. I hope that a National Autopia thing doesn't replace Meguiar's doing regional things. They are informative no matter what products you use. Understanding how a polish or cleaner works, and techniques and such, will be valuable when you use non-Meguiar's products as well. You gain knowledge, it's not like they just read the catalog to you.

A regional event would mean more folks could attend (well, lots of regional ones would mean that), and that you could actually show up in your own car and get help with the specific problems.

A national get-together would be cool too, though I bet a lot of people wouldn't be able to make it. It's a cool separate idea, not a cool replacement idea. :)

Spring Regional SEMA Show Feb 2-5, 2005

Indy is a great Convention city... with a very vibrant area surrounding the Convention Center/Conseco Fieldhouse/RCA Dome.

We're the Crossroads of America, for crying outloud!

Just a logical suggestion...

What we need here, is an organizer, David!

I'll chip in, but, I have a business to run...
