Meguiar's Deep Crystal Carnauba Liquid Wax

What are the thoughts of Meguiar's Deep Crystal Carnauba Liquid Wax? I've been using it alone on new paint. I've been getting 2 months of water beading leaving the car out 24/7 in the PA sun. It also is doing a good job of protecting the clear from having tar and road paint etch, its a white basecoat Toyota Yaris. Not a bad product for something you can buy at Walmart. Only issue is I drive nights and bugs stick to the front bumber/grill area even the next day after waxing.

it's better than nothing, but there is so much better out there

I used this type of wax on many cars that I detail. It gives it an extremely deep and high gloss shine. It does not work to well in direct sunlight and is tough to buff off on the hood's of dark cars but it does work well if applied in the shade.

Decent for shine but not much else. After a month beading was virtually gone on a car that gets quite a bit of driving time. It is cheap and effective at what it does... If I were really doing a full detal at a car and had this lying around, I would put a coat on and then seal it with a sealant.

if you are geting good results with it and like it, keep using it. i prefer #26 instead, which can be bought at autozone...

Meguiars's #26 and their newer stuff "Deep Crystal Carnauba Liquid Wax" are virtually the same. I have used both and they offer a deep shine. It is true that they only last for one month if not garaged or if you drive your car frequently long distances.

If you clay your car before applying Meguiar's you will get a deeper shine and it will last longer because it will bond to the clear coat better.

The problem with it I am discovering is I am scrubbing harder than is really safe to remove bugs & tar. Its a white car so its not causing a lot of damage but still I need something that repels bugs&tar better.

So I am going to strip it off with dawn, clay, KAIO and then use 476s for the winter.

It is almost inevitable that bugs and tar will stick to the car no matter what type of wax or paint sealant you have on there. I put a klasse sealant glaze on my car a month ago and when I drive long distances on the highway I have bug and tar residue on my front bumper. Klasse does work better than Meguiars from preventing bugs and tar from sticking, all you have to do is a light wash and it will come right off. But if you expect to completely avoid road grime altogether your out of luck.

The Collinite oughta be better in that regard, and you could always use 845 if you wanted to stick with a liquid.

But FWIW, I agree with just using KSG since you're using KAIO anyhow. It works great for me with regard to shedding tenacious contamination and, if you layer it heavily, you can clay away anything that's *really* tenacious without stripping off all the KSG.
