Have you compared this to Eraser in the feel and cleaning ability? I am currently using Eraser with a slight addition of IPA mixture to make it a little more economical but this could be even better.

 
Fwiw I mixed 1oz to 31oz of water. That's pretty much 4 times the dilution. I use it to clean tires, wheels, interior panels, and used it to remove some compounding dust that sat on the car for a day. Removed it effortlessly. I really like d114 it's a great product. Cleaning tires at this dilution is a breeze too.
 
Thanks for the review. From all the reviews, unlike some rinseless, dirt rinses out of mitts rather than building up. I need to get a sample sometime.

Wow, that makes my head hurt... There was a reason why I slept through Chemistry. Unfortunately I lost my titration device to the ex but with Roshan's R^5 Method I think I might be able to get my mad scientist on.

10 oz 90% IPA
21.5 oz distilled water
Yield = 32oz

Thanks Troy. I haven't done side by side tests yet. Will do so when I have some time.
 
Great vid

Having only used onr, I like the fact that this leaves nothing behind.

On a side note, I always used to use more onr than suggested, but now living in fl, I use a lot more due to the high mineral content of water.... Your advise??
 
I'm not sure what to recommend honestly. I've been using the posted dilutions and have great success with them. I think you should continue using how much you are comfortable with although if you really overdo it with this rinseless, there could be a potential degradation to the LSP... as in Mike's post above.

Thanks for the review Roshan, its was informative. However, this is the last rinseless I would want to use. When I'm using a rinseless, I like that it leaves polymers behind and a slick surface. I guess this product would be good if you had a wax free car (just painted or polished off) and you wanted to wash it, or if you wanted to do a rinseless wash on a car that had a coating you wanted to refresh.

But for me, the way I would remove a LSP would be with a stripping shampoo. It seems like some people are using this product to make an Eraser like concoction. For a rinseless though, I'm not sure if I would appreciate it. I don't see the benefit of using a rinseless that leaves nothing behind. It just seems like unless you had a special situation, why not use a rinseless wash that adds a little protection and gloss to the surface?

I think it was designed with body shops in mind. Leaving nothing behind makes them happy since no wax should touch freshly cured paint.

The way I remove LSP is the same way as yours. But not for any reason other than I have a whole gallon of CW&G.

I do like this if I am ready to try a new wax though. I wouldn't want any impression of that wax to be altered by the rinseless I used to clean the car.

I will just add a few of my own thoughts.

  • I could be great for post correction wipe downs as you noted.
  • Some are using this in a mixture to replace / augment IPA or Eraser
  • There are many product out there for people because of different tastes and styles (Think Suds vs no-suds car wash) So find something that works for you
  • I agree that many times I want and like the added gloss that ONR can leave.
  • There are times though that I don't want to mess with the looks of my high end wax LSP. For me this is the perfect solution to still do rinse-less washes.
  • It fills a niche in the market that no one else had/has filled
  • It simply works well.


 
To add as well, some coatings like Wolfs hard body, they recommend not to use any gloss enhancers on this as it will degrade the coating. So this fits that gap in having a rinseless there.

My comment was based on something I read from Michael Stoops and was specific to D114 (although there could be significant misremembering involved). With the very different chemistries being used, I would not expect to be generally applicable.
 
I don't see why it not having gloss enhancers or wax is an issue. If I have lets say auto finesse illusion on my car and I wash with a gloss enhancing or wax enhanced shampoo the gloss I'm seeing is from what the shampoo left behind not my wax. Anther thing is if I want added gloss or wax I will use a dedicated spray wax or detailer after I wash to enhance the gloss and restore slickness. Megs d114 cleans very very well and leaves a nice streak free finish with your lsp unaltered. I think most of us on here top off our lsps after a wash with some sort of spray so I don't really think gloss enhancers are necessary.

However if it's a detail for a soccer mom who you see once a month then yes gloss enhancers are nice but other than that I don't see it being an issue whether a rinseless or shampoo has them.

Again all just my opinion.
