Meguiars Cutting Pads...

How does a meguiars cutting pad compare to a light cutting pad???

Any precautions I should take I dont want to really mess up the clear coat....but the cars ill be doing have pretty intense swirls on them.

Just getting some help I like to take precaution!!!

Thanks,
Blake

I have only used two of their pads the burgundy pad which is a cutting pad and the yellow pad which is a polishing pad. The burgundy pad will be fine, but in most cases I have gotten the job done using the yellow pad with a good polish. I would start with something like that and if you need to step up to the cut pad do so.

Okay I got quite a few polishing pads that I will try and then if they arent working out ill try the cutting pad.

Thanks for the reply.

your welcome. If I remember right the burgundy pad has a med cut. I can't remember the thread, but there was one a few weeks ago that showed a chart which had a list of all the pads and what they were for. Meg's pads were also on there. Do a search and see if you can find it. I printed out a copy but left it at the office.

Also here is something I was thinking about, on my light cutting pad that I used on my car for some reason it was tearing after one use, going to take a picture now.

Meguiar's also lists it as a cutting pad.
That's because it is a cutting pad. :)
