Hey gang, I used the clay bar system on my car once, and wasn't impressed with the results. Perhaps I did it wrong though. Any way, I do however get great results using Meguiar's Body Scrub a few times a year to prep the paint before using Zaino. Would the clay get anything that the body scrub doesn't? I use an orbital to apply and remove the body scrub, FWIW. Thanks for any info!

I used to use quite a bit of BS (Body Scrub lol) and found it to be a great general paint cleaner used in combination with clay. BS is pretty good at cleaning the paint, however, it has it's limitations. It will not remove all of the bonded contamination like clay will. A paint cleaner is no substitute for claying, unless you're using a rubbing compound or similar aggressive formula. I have always had fantastic results from using a cleaner and a clay. Both have their own unique benefits, but a simple cleaner can never replace the results of claying (unless like I said, you use a harsh compound). After you use both, you'll want to "feel" your car every two seconds, because it just, well, feels soooo good.
