Meguiar's APC+ as a wheel cleaner?

I'm looking for an excuse to look for and buy Megs All Purpose Cleaner Plus, seeing as how it can replace so many other cleaners. Currently I'm almost out of EO A2Z wheel cleaner, and I'll have to do one more conventional car wash before winter.

Not a whole lot came up in prior discussion about exactly how strong APC+ is as a wheel cleaner. Am I hoping too much that it has any "spray on, hose off" ability like the way my A2Z works now?

Thanks.

I would supose what ratio you have the APC+ mixed at would have a lot to do with it. I use it on carpets, seats and other Interior stuff. I wouldnt think that it would be as strong as EO Wheel cleaner?

I bought some APC to use on my brother's trucks and it worked fine as a wheel cleaner. A lot like EFHI. Frankly, it was almost identical to Pro's APC (C-54, I think it's called). It looked, felt, smelled, and worked exactly the same.

Funny story - My brother, not Mr. Detailer, is helping me detail his '01 Ram Quad Cab. I task him to clean the wheels and give him the APC. I tell him, "spray it on there and don't be shy". So he sprays. And sprays. And sprays.

I'm like, "dude, how much have you put on that wheel?" He says, "about 1/4 bottle". On ONE WHEEL. :shocked

Guess I shouldn't have told him not to be shy with that stuff....

I'm wondering the same thing. I use it to clean my tires, but I'm hesistant to use them on my wheels.

Hmm, after a bit of searching for EFHI and based on Bret's comments, I don't think APC+ would quite be as strong as I'd wish it was. I like A2Z because it allows me to clean my wheels well without scrubbing or touching the wheels at all. My wheels are the "turbine" style with a couple dozen vents near the outside edge, and it's awkward and frustrating to have to scrub inside these every time.

The wheels on my parent's van are little better.

To be honest I didn't really expect APC+ to be as strong as A2Z, but hey, you don't know if you don't find out...

Clearcoated or painted. I'm not quite sure exactly which, but in any case I've been using A2Z every wash and it hasn't harmed them or changed their appearance. It just makes them clean! :)
