Meguiars #205 - The Ultimate Finishing Polish?

If it does start to dry out a little, a quick drop of 205 on the pad and work for a few more passes and this generally sorts the problem out fully.

If the paint is softer though, I actually abort the set and repeat if that happens but that's just me being uber fussy!

Sure nothing wrong with being uber fussy, especially during the final polishing!

I found 205 to be a decent polish if you want a quick 2 step with 105 and 205 but it doesn't get the results I can achieve with Menzerna's lineup.

I was a huge skeptic of M205 but after trying it a few times over the past 3-4 weeks I have to say that I completely agree with Dave's results here... it really is a great finishing polish as well as a reputable 1-step polish which really does cut well and finish down perfect via rotary (have yet to give it a good go with the RO). The one thing I haven't tested yet is M205 on soft Porsche paint, which is where 106ff and 85rd come into play for me... I'm almost sure it'll do just as good a job as the Menzerna finishing polishes but at this point it's only speculation.

What exactly is missing from your results with the M205 that you get with Menzerna? What machine/pad are you using it with?

This thread might be a good place for me to repeat how well it can work on chrome. I did the (replated) chrome on my pal's Jag MKII with it and he and his wife both said that it had *never* been so nice. I dunno if I'd do this very often, but hey, M205 is made to cut paint and chromium is harder than paint, so you oughta be able to get away with it now and then.
