Meguiar's #16

Ok so I picked up a tin of this stuff today. When I got home, I did my fender and my door over the 1Z Glanz wax which I applied 2 days ago. It doesn't seem as slick as Glanz, and it was INSANELY hard to remove! It also got residue everywhere. Is this normal? I applied it thin to some spots and it didn't seem to make a difference. Could it be because of the Glanz that was on there already? It does shine very nicely, and applied like butter. Took me about 10-15 minutes just to remove the wax from my door and fender!

And you guys are right, a little bit does go a long way and I have a feeling this $16 tin is going to last me years :D

I never had problems removing it. No, it won't feel as smooooooth as Glanz does, but it does feel nice. I've never had residue problems either. How much did you get on the pad? Maybe you used too much? It certainly shouldn't take 15 minutes to buff off a door. :nixweiss

It might be reacting with the Glanz. When I used Glanz I noticed a residue that would come off on your hands for a few days.

I just started with #16 and my first go round was geasy feeling and left a haze but wasn't hard to remove.

I since have adjusted my application method and I can apply to all the fenders/doors/ trunk in 10 minutes and leave for 1/2 hour and remove in 10 minutes ,.. Wipes off very easy.

Jesstzn, can you elaborate on your application method? It wasnt impossible for me to remove, but if youve got it down so that you can wait 30 min and remove, by all means do tell!

I think you're definitely right. I just went over the same area's I applied to before, and it came off alot easier. Maybe I should send an e-mail to 1Z and ask what would cause that.

I've never left #16 on more that a few minutes, close to WOWO, as I do with S100.

I'm surprised to hear you left it on for 1/2 hour and it still removed easily.

Dunno .. I found leaving it a few minutes the next day I can see a haze .. I just apply it thin with as home made MF applicator .. go in the house .. have a coffee .. look in here .. go out .. remove it .. Came off easy with a PakShak green MF.

its a hard wax.....dont apply it thick or leave it on real long or it takes some rubbing to get off....

#16 hazes extra fast in hot very dry air and you must take it off quickly. WOWO'ed today and I worked very small areas....hood, front fender, passenger door, rear door, etc. Learned the hard way. S-100 does have it's temporary advantages.:p

Like I say .. I did all but the hood and roof .. waited .. took it of no problems. It was 60 F out. I tried the WOO and later that day I have a haze thay QD won't eliminate .. It takes it off but it returns. The next day its back. Maybe its just more visable on black.

My experience with #16 has been to use it like S100, a fender or panel at a time and remove. Use very thin layers and it wipes right off. No hazing problems either and I was using it in February when it was cooler than should be legal in Texas.

its the Professional Paste Wax in a tin container......ive never had a hazing either......watch your technique.......any wax put on thick or left to dry forever isnt gonna be an easy off deal.....

noob question but is #16 the hi tech wax?

comes in a tin container?

No it's not the Hi-Tech wax and yes it comes in a tin. This is what #16 looks like.
