Meguiars #16...how long does it last?

How long as this stuff lasted for you guys? Can I use it to top Glanz? This stuff seems really good, and if it will last more than a month for me, I'll buy some.

It outlast S100 and I get a good month out of it. If you maintain #16 with a good QD, e.g. FD it should last 10-12 weeks.

Never used GW sooooo can't comment on topping GW with #16.

In the 1Z forum, there was a question on compatibility, and Mike said Glanz had some carnauba in it and was friendly with other waxes.

#16 lasted over 2 months in the winter in Canada, so I'd say it's durable.

As a side note, there is some debate as to whether or not #16 with continue to be made after this year (VOC compliance etc.)

No last word yet. Still being debated, but it's future may be iffey.

Stock while you can! (1 can should last a person years, by the way).

Depending on the weather it will last very long. The very hot summer conditions would be tougher on durability than the winter. I would expect it to last 3-4 months in all but super hot conditions. This of course will vary with how you wash your car but with some care this will be a very durable wax.

Definitely a good "winter wax".

I've had it on a black Silverado SS and white Expidition since early Febuary and both are still beading very well as of this past Wednesday. I'd say an easy 3-4 months.

Are the beads still tight and small?

I called a local store and she said she has 1 tin in stock, so I said I would go pick it up. She goes "You have about 13 minutes before I close". So, I rush over there, I get there 5 minutes before they close, and as soon as I pull up she locks the friggin door

I've had #16 last for 3 months of winter and salt and crap on my daily-driver. This car is never garaged and, during the winter at least, doesn't get washed all that much. 3 months later and the #16 was still beading like a champ. At that point I applied some #26 so I don't know how much longer the #16 could have gone. It seems quite durable, though. :)

Also, it's my understanding that Glanz Wax can be used interchangably with carnauba waxes. As to whether one really tops the other or not, I can't say, but you can certainly use them without any need to strip one thing or the other first.

Wow, this wax sounds like it has sealant like durability...

Heh heh, I wouldn't go quite *that* far, but yeah, it lasts pretty long. #16 doesn't last as long as Collinite, but it's the longest lasting carnauba with good looks I've tried yet. Collinite lasts a bit longer, but IMO it doesn't look as nice.
