Meguairs vs Clearkote

As soon as the winter weather breaks, I will be using up the last of my Meguiars Deep Crystal 3 step and be ready for a new stock of products. I have been considering a PC 7336 from Lowes and the Edge 6" system. We will be driving to Destin for spring break on our federal tax refund, and will wait until we return to make a final decision on PC vs hand application. If I continue this season with hand application, how does Clearkote VM, CMW and QD stack up to the 3 step I have been using.
 
Wetter with better durabilty imo. VM has some slight cleaning abilty with some fillers to help hide minor swirls, CMW (from what I've seen) looks very wet, and QS is my favorite QD no streaking and looks great. Megs 3 step is not in the same playing field....
 
I think you will like the ClearKote combo a lot better. You might want to throw some RMG into the mix too. I like to mix the VM and RMG (Pink Moose). With these you get paint correction and that extra pop.



It is really worth it to invest in a pc. You can achieve so much better results.
 
Custodian here is Vm and RMG mixed 50/50 aka "Pink Moose" and DP MawWax all by hand

I understand that RMG is better on dark finishes and VM on light. Which do you guys consider the Superior Blue Metallic in my avatar to be?

I would use the RMG with that color. The RMG doesn't contain any abrassives though. The VMG does have light abrassives.
 
You might want to get both VM and RMG. Use both (VM first) the first time you polish your car. I'd also mix about 4 oz of each into a bottle for use in between polishing or when you only want to do two steps but still need some polishing ability. The rest of the time I'd use RMG/CMW and VM for your trim, chrome, etc.
 
Also, the Clearcoat stuff can be used in the sun. I've found that the Meg's 3 step isn't as user friendly when sun/heat is involved.
