Megs wheel cleaners how are the different?

I was looking at both the Megs red bottle and the gold class line wheel cleaners and was wondering how they are different other than the pkging and of course the price?

They have I think 4 different wheel cleaners...the Pro line Hi-Tech is neutral, the Gold Class All Wheel in the black bottle is citric acid, Hot Rims is acetic and oxalic, and Gold Class Instant hydrofluoric acid-type...they keep changing them, it looks like the black bottle Gold Class isn't available anymore, and now they are calling the Hot Rims the all-wheel cleaner...I guess the red bottle would be the G-92 Instant--which is the most powerful they have, and if you're talking about the black Gold Class, that's pretty weak.

I recommend NOT getting the Hot Wheels (neon purple clear bottle)..at least for me it didn't work very well and had a horrible sulfur smell. Never used any of the other ones, but I would assume their pro line is probably pretty good..why not get Eagle1 A2Z?

I agree you should try to find the orange-bottled A2Z; worlds better than the Meg's stuff I had been using previously.

Now they've replaced that even; it's in a blue bottle and has dropped the A2Z name.

The only time I wouldn't use A2Z is on bare polished aluminium...it doesn't take kindly to highly alkaline cleaners. In that case I'd go for one of the acid-based cleaners, otherwise A2Z (used as per instructions) is very good.

So has the formula of A2Z changed the? That was far and away the best rim cleaner I have ever used. I wish I could get it in a 5 gallon jug.

I know it changed since when it was in a black bottle way back; it used to be acid based then. Now (orange bottle and newer) it is alkaline based.
